This was the important bit to me.

I think when you're a true partner in a relationship, a joint agreement on money management is critical -- and a wife will be mindful of the budget.

I'll second those thoughts. It's been put to a vote.
The yea's have it!

My wife still says''honey can I buy this or that?''
My response is always the same.''Up to you honey,it's your money not mine. You can spend it now or you can spend it later!''I always remind her that, when I die, savings will be her future income as both my retirement pensions will not exist.

:) Sure am Ray.2/17 56 to 01/7 60!Not by choice,I might add  One of the most immature sailors you ever saw.Spent the whole 4 yrs dodging and ducking the Shore Patrol and enjoying ''the delights''of the Orient.Don't qualify for any Vet benefits,as this 4 years happened to be the only time The USA was not formally engaged in a conflict. We just got to observe the shelling of Quemoy and the Atom bomb experiments in the Marshalls. The rest of the time was reserved for whoremongering, fights between the service branches, extra duty and brig time  I think I matured a little bit  Hope so :!:

The ''justice'' for being a punk was that after 4 years,I found out that I did not qualify for any Vet benefits and that I could have wiggled out of the Navy because of my flat flat feet!

The doctor giving me my physical checkup for discharge, informed me that he did not know how I got in with my flat feet!lol

There have been many change in the VA have you researched recently, I had no idea about thi benefir until I came here four years ago.

Oh well,I have no complaints.Life has definitely treated me more than fair!I have missed out on several benefits in life, but I would venture to say that 80-90% of the world has had a heck of lot worse than me.I have far more than I need at the moment! It is always great to find that there is a benefit available that one never knew about, and I am happy that you have benefited in that way.I appreciate your passing on the info that could be beneficial to others. Thanks!

:) I don't know how you relate to the aging process,I challenge my acceptance of it constantly :!: Most of my life,I have had a youthful appearance, the mindset of a younger person and the physical prowess seemingly more youthful than other men my actual age!At 60,most people would guess my age as no more than 50!The last 7 1/2 years, the aging process has accelerated greatly. The discipline for relative fitness has diminished and all my ''little aches and pains'' have,at times, become almost debilitating.I vasilate between thoughts of ''have to get in shape, lose15-20 kilos'' to ''F It''.I move around like an old man :!: My wife is starting to get concerned between saying gin cow  I am like a little brat screaming''I hate getting old''

If it helps you guys (or chaps for the English) when quoting things in a Reply to a Posting:-

First highlight what you want to quote/copy, by dragging the mouse (left click) along it, then whilst the text is highlighted in blue - click on "Edit" on the top menu bar and then on "copy" from the drop down options.

Then go to the place where you want to copy it to, then first click the mouse there (to ensure the cursor is in the right place), then click on "Edit" again from the top menu bar, followed by "paste" from the drop down menu options. It should then appear in your required (Post a Reply) location.

Finally, the important bit - if you then highlight the text again (in it's new location) and click on "Quote" from the options under the "Post a Reply" at the top, the text will automatically be encased in a Quote Box. You don't even need to type in [quote or /quote]! :D
