Special Report: World Tackles A/H1N1 Flu

BANGKOK, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Three students of the 14 returnees who arrived at Bangkok from Mexico Sunday night have showed flu symptoms and are now quarantined in medical institute, director of the institute said Monday morning.

According to Dr. Preecha Tantanakit, director of Bamrasnaradura Institute, blood test result would confirm whether the three students are infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus, which have been rampant in Mexico recently and killed at least 19, though Mexico said on Sunday its flu epidemic was declining.

The names of the suspected-flu-infected students were not disclosed.

Earlier report said only one of the students has a little fever, thought to be tired after a long journey and separated from others for further test.

The seven students and seven teachers, who visited Mexico under a scholarship since August last year, arrived from Mexico at Bangkok-based Suvarnabhumi International Airport around 11:30 p.m.(GMT1630) Sunday, and were immediately taken to Bamrasnaradura Institute, the national infectious diseases referral hospital in Nonthaburi province north to Bangkok.

A version of the Spanish Flu that caused a world-wide pandemic in 1918 and killed between 50-100 million people is a big fat hairy deal. Until it's further id'd and possible immunizations produced, people and governments must err on the side of caution. If governments did not attempt to get the publics attention,,,, those that present a cavalier attitude would be the first to blame officials and the media for failing to notify the public. The families in Mexico who have lost loved ones surely think it's a big fat hairy deal.

Conspiracy Theory

Novartis, released this new strain in Mehicko, they are a 3rd wrold world country, but have a massive tourist industry, therefore, it spreads asap in 36 hrs.

What is it now, 200 deaths approx, ( same as SARS ! ) ummmm who made money on that little deal, some Farmasuitical company.,

Its not a blip on any radar, unless the media run with it

So far Billions have been spent as a radical knee jerk reaction .

PAD need to hit the headlines again , from what i read, so they will barricade the ASEAN summit in Thailand on this Flu issue.

Thats 2 summits cancelled in 2 months, LOL

LL, are those the same mad Korean scientists who W uses for all the other conspiracies of mind control and destruction? :lol:

Back on topic, if this flu was a conspiracy designed to kill worldwide, it isn't likely to happen. If anything, it has many more people thinking about closing/stiffening the southern border.

Absolutely WBU Alum,,,, the very same mad Korean scientists (that is , except when they're not helping the Masons control America). You know of course, they are able to accomplish mind control because they reverse-engineered it from barely alive aliens kept underground in a secret laboratory at Area 51 in the Nevada desert since 1947. Better get back to the topic,,,,,

The type A strain Flu (bird, swine,people, etc) is the more dangerous of the 2, causing the vast majority of deaths. That was what Tamiflu and Zanamivir (Relenza) were developed for but now the various type A strains are showing resistance to Tamiflu, leaving only Relenza and a few other types available. Some scientists and doctors say Tamiflu is still useful against Type A so I don't know. :-k
