90 day reporting

PostAuthor: businessman » September 27, 2005, 11:36 am

On the 15th August applied for another years extention and 30 days later got the approval. The guys in immigration did not put any reporting date slip in the passport this time so is it 90 days from applying for extention or 90 days from receiving approval?

From information I have received off ThaiVisa.com your next visit should be 90 days from your last 90 DAY VISIT NOT to be confused with any other business matters eg. Visa extn etc.

I thought I would re-boot this thread with a question:-
Has anyone attempted to lodge your TM47 form at a police station or asked the Nong Khai people if it is acceptable to do so?
It appears that it is being done in other parts of the Kingdom. Probably has alot to do with the rapour between the local Immigration office and surrounding police stations.

90 day reporting at Nong Khai today,in and out in ten minutes. Was going on to Ek Udon and asked if it was a good idea to report there and was told they have had queues of up to 20 people on a Monday.

While in the Ek Udon was asked by a group of seven travellers where the visa section was so someone is advertising the fact to tourists.

Exactly!

So what a crazy idea it was to close the Udonoffice last year when the foreigner population is growing almost daily ?

If they are now recognising there are huge que's at the Udon office - does that mean they will rethink their very limited opening days/ hours?

Probrably not - TIT.

I received my first Non-immigrant O-A Multiple Entry Visa (retirement) from Washington DC Embassy on 29 August 2006 and arrived at Don Muang on 21 September where they stamped my passport as "Admitted until 20 Sept 2007". I received nothing from the Washington embassy or Bangkok Immigration Control regarding 90 Day Reporting. If it weren't for the forums I wouldn't even be aware that there is a requirement to report in every 90 days.

Wondering when I should actually plan on showing up at AEK or Nong Khai office? Just before 29 November or 21 December? :?: :-k

The 90 day report is to notify your current address and when you arrived in Thailand you did just that on your TM6 - right? So you then need to notify your current address 90 days after that.

Actually I would have thought that you would have been given 90 days here - and then you need to re-validate it by entering/leaving the Kingdom every 90 days - for up to one year. Hence the term multiple entry. (for 1 year)

I was not aware that there is any (initial) visa which enables you to stay here for 1 year without entering or leaving every 90 days UNLESS you have received an extension to that visa - in which case you would have had to prove you have sufficient funding (and reason) to be here, and then simply report your address every 90 days.

Might be worth confirming this with immigration (Friday afternoons are usually pretty quiet times). It will put your mind at rest and they will advise you about 90 day reports - from the horses mouth !!!

You have 7 days 'grace' either side of the date. therefore you have a 14 day 'window'.

You should have no problems mate

One of the reasons I applied for the O-A multiple was to avoid the leave/enter every 90 days trips but still have options to travel outside of the Kingdom if I wanted. Just checking in every 90 days doesn't sound like too bad an ordeal. It's also good to know that there is a 14 day window.

As suggested, I will stop in at AEK and confirm. Thanks, guys.

:) More clarification! It is 90 days from the date of your visa stamp. If you leave the country before 90 days, there is no need to report as you have another 90 days from the day you reenter the country. There is a fine of 2000 baht for not reporting! It has never been enforced in Nong Khai by anyone that I have met.I know many guys that have lived her for years and never reported without a problem.I personally was 90 days late once, and I was told by the Immigration staff,''don't worry we don't charge you the 2000 baht, next time you leave the country, you come report after 90 days''.

There is a new administrator at the Nong Khai office now,so the policy might have changed!Anyway,it is not a serious error ,like staying over your visa and getting caught!
