Its a difficult one,Galee.If you had an extra 30 minutes then I think youd be OK but this is cutting it very fine.
If you are out of the airport for 7.50am. get a taxi to use the expressway (tollway) and get to Dom Muang about 8.40pm,then get your ticket smartish you will be OK.
I think the key is how long the queue in Immigration will be.If you are lucky enough to be near the front you stand a chance.
Failing that it will be the 1.20pm Thai flight,I'm afraid.But if that happens,look on the bright side.A chance for you to take your young lady shopping in the Siam Paragon !

I caught the 999 VIP Bus from Udon to Swampy the other week, all went smoothly, travelled over night, left Udon at 21.00, arrived at 05.00am, Drivers were changed at Korat, seating comfortable, reclining, and mannaged to grab a few hours sleep. Two stops, Khon Kaen and Korat.

Pluses, Cheap fare 480bht 1st Class, Luggage weight did not seem to be a problem, I had about 40kilos, they do not weigh it. No hassle getting across Bkk to catch Domestic flight at Don Muang,

Minus, 8 hours trip, Bus full ,

Drop off at Bus Terminal, then Shuttle bus to Airport, 10mins drop off outside Departures. Shuttle bus is Free.

Dont know about Swampy to Udon but if you have time to kill, worth a look at the Bus Terminal, If you cant get a Bus to Udon from there at a suitable time you could always catch a bus to Don Muang to catch a suitable flight. I would definitely go this route again.

Which part of the station in Udon do you buy the tickets for the Swampy Express from? I told the daft bint but she says she cannot find.

The Central Bus Station has an entry and exit road, the Office is situated on the exit road, left hand side if you are driving out of the bus station, with red 999 signs in the windows. Suggest get tickets in advance as bus was full, I booked a week ahead but a day or two I think would be ok.

I have plane leaving Swampy around 9 am, so that timing fits well, saves an airline ticket, a night hotel + taxis in Bangkok as well.

Hello everybody, I am very new on this forum, and besides that I am (oh shame) living in Khon Kaen. Hover, my daughter is going to school in Udon, so maybe that qualifies me?
I am trying to find out things about the 999-bus to Suvarnibhumi. Is there anyone who could inform me where in Khon Kaen tickets are sold for this bus. Or maybe can supply me with a telephone number of the bus company. A number in Udon would be smashing. Thanks a lot.
