WARNING ! Dont go to the Aek Udon dental clinic

I went to aek udon dental clinic to receive a root canal treatement last October.
After the first session which I paid 4.900 B, a part of the tooth broke.
Going back to the clinic, the dentist wanted to undergo treatement on another tooth. I asked her to repair the dammaged one. She did roughly fill it up, saying i twas her fault, since the totth was in such a bad condition, she should had set a temporary crown. But she did not, even that day. And she charged me 200 b for the filling.
Some time later, that tooth got broken to the roots.
I went back to the clinic, refused to start treatement on the other teeth and filed up a complain.
It took them more than 40 days to answer me. And they said that they cvould not do anything since I had this tooth removed in another clinic.
WHICH IS A LIE !!! this tooth is still in my mouth today, at least what is left of it.
I had to send them the X rays to prove them that this tooth was still there.
Finally they called me in again. I was « welcomed » by 5 people ( the dentist, the chief dentist, one assistant and 2 ladie working at the customer service office) Those persons told me the same story about having my tooth previously removed. I asked them to check. They refused !!! They finally offered me to refund me 2.000 B when I asked them to repair the damage which means put an implant. I know it since my father was a dentist and a professo rat the main french dental university. Ansd this was confoirmed by the dentists I have seen since. And that will cost me about 35.000 B

I asked to see the general manager, they refused arguing that this man did not speak english. So I said I would wait there until I could see him, they threatened me to call the security guards.

This is how a patient is treated in Aek Udon dental clinic after a medical mistake.

One thing I learnt though, is that, if you ever go through this kind of medical misbehaving, you only have 90 days to go to court. So, dont start to negociate with the clinic, just get a lawyer, send them to a court of law and then, and only then, you can talk with those people.

So you must have gotten your tooth fixed elsewhere. Where are you getting dental treatment now?

I recently went to Aek to fix a filling that broke off and took about 50% of the tooth with it. The Dentist put in a temporary filling and told me I needed a crown and possibly a root canal. I'm scheduled to go back to see a specalist in a couple of weeks.

I don't know why a root canal would be necessary since there is no pain in the tooth at all. I suppose the crown is a reasonable recomendation since the tooth is 50% gone and broken down to the gum-line on one side.

Any other's out there have reports on Aek-Udon Dental or root canal treatment?

Hi Bujanov,

It seems that your whole complaint rests on the question of whether the dentist should have known to installed a temporary crown. I know this isn't a question in your mind, but I am curious as to whether the dentist had weakened the tooth during the first procedure (for which you paid 4900 Bhat). Did she?

It seems that in the large meeting after filling out the complaint form, the staff were very defensive. From your description, it sounds like they were unreasonable in claiming that you had the tooth removed (I wonder why they thought this was relevant), and perhaps it was unreasonable for them to decline to look into your mouth to see that the tooth was still there, but maybe, given your attitude at the moment and your demands for an implant at no cost to yourself, they were not willing to give an inch in their argument.

If you don't mind, my questions are:
In the first procedure, did the dentist weaken the tooth (perhaps by drilling out the insides)?
What is the name of the dentist (I have an appointment next week)?

I am sorry that you will have to go through the pain and trouble of an implant. Perhaps a bridge would be a better alternative. In any case, I hope you find a dentist in which you have confidence, and I wish you good luck with your repair.

I have had three treatments there with which I was unsatisfied. One, when removing a tooth, was traumatic. Another was poor advice, whilst in general I have the idea that the costs are inflated, in case of a rootcanal treatment bij an uncertified lady, I pay less in Bangkok Hospital Pattaya which has certified endodontists and excellent facilities.
Now I go to Pattaya for work other than fillings, which is far away, but at least gives you peace of mind.

For other medicall services I have, until now, not had any complaints.

To Rickfarang :
sorry for late answer
1) of course the dentist did weaken the tooth. and she knesw it since she said it was her mistake after the tooth boke the first time. nevertheless, she did not sinstall the temporary crown wich is there to hold the tooth structure together.
2) the doctor name is Mrs Sasitorn Vechapanich
I did not ask them for a free implant but asked them what they did intend to do about this problem and mentionned that my new dentist said that he tought an implant would be needed. And it happens that I cannot have a bridge there.

To Mr Natural
as far as I know, to have a crown you must undergo a root canal treatement. the tooth must be "dead" before it can be crowned.

I am now going to the Udon Thani dental clinic, 35/15 Makaeng road. 042.245.112. Between the fountain circle and the Prince Prajak monument. good doctors, fare prices. far cheaper than in Aek Udon dental clinic.

That seems to be a good warning for who those that want to go still to that medical rather, that dental hospital. It could warn everybody to think about it before going to a dental hospital. Anyway, you should try to provide some further information about it.

You better go to some other dental clinic to find out the necessary dental services that you needed with your tooth. You might try to ask some of your friends for some recommendation for a better dental clinic.

There are good dentists in Nong Khai, like the one on the right on the way to the railroad station.

Ask here if you want more details. He is very good, and believe me, I've seen a few!
