HE is higher than you. You,ll get your visa and enjoyed the drink too.
On a more serious note, as Harry said on another subject, the police read the forum too. Do you think Immigration don't?
Here here on both points Stan and Val.
Besides, why should I bribe someone for just doing their job.
I have never felt it necessary to bribe anyone here in Thailand. Especially when I haven't done anything wrong.
I just want to go about my business and live my life. So from time to time I have to make a trip to immigration.
A few months ago I wanted to get a driver's license. So I need a letter from the immi. confirming my address and who I am etc etc. which costs 1000 baht. So I went to immigration to get the letter and the guy sent me away saying I needed house documents from the apartment where I stay, saying that I live there etc etc plus ID from homeowner and power of attorney. when I went back with all the documents he sent me away because the address on the ID from the apartment owner was not quite the same as the address on the letter etc. etc. So I went back with the correct documents - he sent me away again because something else was wrong.
On the 3rd visit of the day (just to get a letter saying who I was) he started picking through my documents and looking for holes. Now I (and my gf) had been extrememly polite throughout this ordeal, as I know the guy can be a bit harsh so I was on my best behaviour.
So he starts picking at my documents and I'm thinking 'jesus, what is his problem, it's not like I'm applying for citizenship', it was just a piece of paper saying who I was so I could get a driving license.
So In the politest way possible I pointed this out to him and that I was only trying to get a drivers' license. I guess he must have realised how anal he was being and 'pushed it through'. common sense prevailed.
Maybe he was waiting for a 'gift'.
There was no need to give me such a hard time.
If you are reading this Mr. Immigration man. Thanks for the help, you are doing a great job.
and ps...I believe in Karma...
