Amphur Seka

[html]<p><strong>Seka</strong> (Thai: <span xml:lang="th" lang="th">เซกา</span>) is a district (<em>Amphur</em>) in the eastern part of Nong Khai Province, northeastern Thailand.</p>
<h2><span id="Geography">Geography</span></h2>
<p>Neighboring districts are (from the west clockwise) Phon Charoen, Si Wilai, Bueng Kan, Bung Khla, Bueng Khong Long of Nong Khai Province, Na Thom of Nakhon Phanom Province, Akat Amnuai, Kham Ta Kla and Ban Muang of Sakon Nakhon Province.</p>
<p>The main river of the district is the Songkhram River. The Phu Wua Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the district.</p>
<h2><span id="History">History</span></h2>
<p>The minor district Seka was established on November 16 1958, when the five subdistrict Seka, Dong Bang, Sang, Pho Mak Khaeng and Tha Kok Daeng were split off from Bueng Kan district. The following year it was upgraded to a full district.</p>
<h2><span id="Administration">Administration</span></h2>
<p>The district is subdivided into 9 subdistricts (<em>tambon</em>), which are further subdivided into 131 villages (<em>muban</em>). There are two subdistrict municipalities (<em>thesaban tambon</em>) - Si Phana covers parts of <em>tambon</em> Seka, and Tha Sa-at covers parts of the same-named <em>tambon</em>. There are further 9 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).</p>
