[html]<p><strong>So Phisai</strong> (Thai: <span xml:lang="th" lang="th">โซ่พิสัย</span>) is a district (<em>Amphoe</em>) of Nong Khai Province, northeastern Thailand.</p>
<h2><span id="History">History</span></h2>
<p>The minor district (<em>King Amphoe</em>) So Phisai was established on March 1 1972, when the three <em>tambon</em> So, Si Chomphu and Nong Phan Tha were split off from Phon Phisai district. It was upgraded to a full district on April 12 1977.</p>
<h2><span id="Geography">Geography</span></h2>
<p>Neighboring districts are (from the west clockwise) Fao Rai, Rattanawapi, Pak Khat, Bueng Kan and Phon Charoen of Nong Khai Province, and Ban Muang of Sakon Nakhon Province.</p>
<h2><span id="Administration">Administration</span></h2>
<p>The district is subdivided into 7 subdistricts (<em>tambon</em>), which are further subdivided into 89 villages (<em>muban</em>). So Phisai is a township (<em>thesaban tambon</em>) which covers parts of <em>tambon</em> So. There are further 7 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).</p>
