Hijacking someone else's thread to perpetuate your anti-British sentiment? Shame on you.

Going back to the original post, may I apologise on behalf of the english resident population that this has occurrred to you Kev, this incident is not acceptable behaviour and i hope that by some means or another he can be identified and we then will all know who this 'Gentleman ' is.
Knowledge is a wonderful thing, if we know we can inform, he will get the message.
i will make some enquires .

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the support. Yes I am OK but very disallusioned (need a spell checker, is there one here somewhere.). My first thoughts were to head back to Perth WA but on settling down I won't allow myself to be pushed out by some clown. If I go I want it to be on my terms and my own happy terms at that.

Funny that someone mentioned Mr Tongs, think it was Mortiboy. My mate was talking to the other guys that were still there after bozzo had left.. Seems he thinks I am someone from Mr Tongs. I have never been before and the closest I have been is walking past the door on the way back from the nightmarket. Even if I had been there before it still gives him no rights what so ever to attack me.

By the way guys, I mean no offense to the decent law abiding English residents of Udon Thani and surrounds. Its just the standard bad apple but some barrells seem to have more than others.

Jay,since you were amongst friends that surely must have witnessed this event, although I can not understand their lack of intervention initially,I am wondering why the police were not summoned and charges pressed??
If it would have been me and I didn't get satifaction legaaly that evening, upon seeing him at the Irish Clock,I would ''clocked'' him there on the spot! The next time be played ''lager lout'',he would be doing so crippled!
Yes,I know there would be risk on my part as far as trouble with Thailand is concerned, but I will be damned if I will ever allow a falang get ''over''with a physical attack on me or my loved ones!Never have and never will!

some advice from Brooklyn never give your opponent the chance to strike first and never turn your back on him. when you sense he is going to hit you that when you act and do not hold back do what ever it takes to destroy him. we live in a violent world so defending your self should and always come first forget
about turning the other cheek that more B/S advocated by some one with no balls. put the fear of GOD in his eyes when you smash his head to the floor AMEN

I think that's rather harsh Ron saying the OP has no balls. Even though I could not do so myself I rather admire his self restraint by not making an ugly situation uglier.

Sorry about that Kevro. After reading that for the 2nd time, what BkkStan said is exactly what
I was thinking? Why did the proprietor and other customers not intervene? And after the fact
why were the police not called and the lout in question not charged with assault? Is the business
not fully legitimate and they wanted to avoid a scene? It's all very surreal? Having said that I've
already witnessed half a dozen attacks in bar areas and I'm very cautious about nightlife areas.

I hope on topic. But has anyone seen or heard of our friendly police volunteers lately? Thought this was what they were for.? If not a quick call to Tourist police number should see the guy locked up.
To Ron and Stan.Septuagenarian fisticuffs? No disrespect lads, but none of us are as young as we used to be.

I have seen Steve who was a police volunteer. He went back to UK but now back again. This bloke is as hard as nails.Ex street fighter, built like a brick sh*thouse.Last time I saw him he was walking around Big C....With his monkey friend on his shoulders.
Why give BIB a problem when these guys can sort it out.

"no respect lads, but were not as young as we used to be" ........That maybe so, but these bullies rely on the fact you are "easy meat." If you dont retaliate, they will carry on !But not all people are that way inclined to fisticuffs. That dont mean they got no balls.Just bought up decent

  I think you have had a different upbringing than us!At our age fisticuffs would not be the only or even first choice, whatever it takes to win and accomplish the goal has always been my motto!Hopefully my street awareness allows me to avoid the situation completely.I can usually see trouble coming and completely shine it!I am always fearful when I have to confront, but I never have accepted defeat, whatever it takes and at 70,it takes more compensation, therefore makes it a more dangerous situation!

Kevro - Sorry to hear about your experience

I am English and in my thirties and I am truly ashamed by some of the behaviour I witness by my fellow countrymen. So much so that I avoid telling people where I am from if at all possible.

If this guy is still in town Im sure with the description you have given a board member will spot him soon. Its unfortunate that the police were not called at the time although I doubt they would have done much about it. Lets hope this guy plays up again and meets his match! He is a typical bully and Im sure he will carry on until he is taken care of.

I have a;lready spoken to one or two bar owners who are aware and will let me know his mane if he pops in, from what I can gather there has been a spate of badly behaved chaps from various countries and bar owners are now being advised to ban them and also advising the Tourist police of the names and people concerned.
This should eventually nip things in the bud so to speak, however ware all aware of the cracks that slimeballs slip through so be on your guard.
if you spot him or know his name let me know I will certainly spread it about, I have no qualms about upsetting a ne'er do well, he can always visit me at my place my dogs .like fresh meat the fresher the better. lol

Im an ex rugby league player was in the backs so im not a big guy but when someone built like a brick and fit runs at you it takes balls to stand your ground and tackle him. I learned to hit hard and be prepared to be hit. But always remember if you fight back and knock him down remember he can suffer seriouse if not death when his head hits the floor i know 1-2 people who this has happened too unfortunatly the guys thet hit went down blood clot on the brain lights out the message is try and calm him or takes more balls but walk away. Better than having that on your consiounce.
