As I said before it is a very unlucky event that happened to you and one I don't think is likely to happen again in Udon. Especially if this particular individual leaves Udon quickly. Personally I doubt if he would even recognise you if he saw you again as it sounds like he was looking for a fight & you were the one person in the bar he didn't recognise - so you were the one.
It is unfortunate that these people exist and, as have some have already said, his problems are undoubtedly fuelled by alcohol &/or drugs.
Personally I agree with you that avoidance is the best policy, so can fully understand your actions at The Clock....
I agree Kevro, everyone handles these situations as they think best, you have nothing to be ashamed of if you stuck to your ideals and whether or not you did, isn't any of our business.Nobody here is our judge,be true to your ideals is my motto!

Good for you!! I'll bet that guy has always been a little bit more careful about how he treated others after that learning experience. I'm with you, if someone attacks me or mine unprovoked, they will get the quickest maximum punishment I can dish out. Unfortunately the law doesn't agree and usually insists we respond in like manner to use self defense as a plea. Sometimes you have to wait for the proper moment for a learning experience.......
