Another English lager lout victim

PostAuthor: Kevro » May 4, 2009, 8:03 pm

And its me!!!!

Last Sat night I had been down the night market with my TW and our 3 year 9 monthe old son and had a good meal and then returned to the hotel around 9pm. After seeing the family to the room I advised the missus that I was going down to have a couple of beers with my good friend Terry who runs a bar beer down there.

So far so good. Met Terry and he introduced me to a couple of English guys there, a ralph (Big muscely and lots of tats) nice guy but leaving the next day back to the UK and the other guy Tony (Ran the lucky bar) also nice guy. Anyway on my second beer and getting ready to return to Top Mansion when this other English guy (lager lout) enters the bar and pronounces rather loudly to his aquaintance Ralph that he was well and truely hammered and had already been in a fight that night..

Anyway was'nt looking at him and when I turned my head the other way he was there 1 metre away looking at me and clearly had other things on his mind. He steps closer and made some comments about me looking at him wrong and starts provoking a fight but clipping me around the head and not getting an instant response he moves in closer and starts using his forehead in the English manner and eventually forcing me off the other side of my bar stool. Once I put a foot on the ground I don't remember anything until I find myself in front of the bar fridges about 4-5 metres away. I have a lot of pain from behind my left ear and neck and I don't know what happened. I can assume though that I was wacked in the back of the head and left on the floor. My Mate Terry had been away at the time but his partner was over soon with tissues and assistance as I had a bit of a bloody lip.

End result the next day was a puffy eye, nick on the cheek, very tender back of ear / neck, lip and assorted aches and pains. In my 48 years I have never been involved in any type of violence / fight and I will always try and avoid such on any occasion. I have been very happy living in the village out of Udon and my occassional trips into the city for a weekend. I am now re-concidering everything. I do not feel safe at night, especially the day/night complex and surrounding areas. Currently I am happy to be back in the village away from those clowns.

If you see this clown around call the tourist police (We have reported already). His is English (Obviously)about 180cm, fit looking, around 27 - 32 tears of age, bleached hair (possibly red hair originally), cropped on top and maybe wingnuts. Next day I spotted him at Irish Clock for Sunday roast, I turned around and left.

Udon Thani is no longer safe (I used to think it was). Next time to Udon, if there is a next time we won't be anywhere near the centre.

Kevro

PS anyone know this guy, I believe his name is Jay

Forgot to mention,

I was there the day before about 7pm waiting for the TW and son to come and get me so we could go and get a feed. I don't want to think about what might have happened if he turned up hammered with the family there.

Sorry to hear that kev.I hate this crap.I know it goes on.But why do these gutter louts do this? I mean go up to someone and provoke a violent incident.
Surely, he must have met up with low life scum same as him? Best thing was to head butt him first chance followed by kick in the balls.
But you weren't to know what was going to happen. If he meets up with a Thai, and does the same.He would be in serious danger. These people dont mess around.Lets hope he will soon or later meet his doom!
Take care mate, probably never happen again to you. ;)

If he hangs around long enough, it'll probably happen.

Yes, it certainly can happen anywhere in the world but VERY regrettable that it has happened in Udon.
From my experiences most of the Falang in Udon tend to be of the more long term visitor & so may get "merry" at times but stop way short of physical violence because nearly everybody (no matter how stupid or drunk) understands the concept of not sh*tting on your own doorstep.
I know (in the past couple of years) there have been other "characters" of dubious character (&, unfortunately also from England) who, in their "youthful exuberance" have made a night out a misery for anyone who was unfortunate enough to be in the same bar as them... I can only say that (thankfully) they might well outstay their welcome but still do not last too long in Udon... :(

Yes, I s'pose so but it's more poignant as most Brits choose to live in UTH because they want to escape that facet of English culture, sadly it's following them. This is the third example of a p!ssed up English kn0b causing trouble in UTH that I can recall.

Why do you think that Morti? There's no facts to back up that guess.

I may be wrong but from memory there are no bar fridges that Kev describes on view at Mr Tongs. I doubt Kev will mention the bar as it would be bad publicity for his friend.

Kev, thanks for the warning, hope your on the mend.

It was'nt a guess.so much as a ..question. The reason being my friend frequents mr Tongs regularly He tells me there is many incidents of unruly English louts causing trouble.
Maybe he exaggerating I dont know.Thats what he said. He also said he has seen the thug in question in Mr Tongs. Mohican's red short cropped hair

I would'nt know I dont go to bars for this reason. Just dont call me English.....thats an insult

Kev,

I re-iterate that what others have said, I am sorry to hear of your bad experience.

Being English my-self, I feel embarrassed, but please do not class us all the same, (I am not insinuating that you are :D).

It is normally the younger pratts that give us a bad name, and always the ones here short time (in more ways than one), that causes these sort of problems. "beer goes in - Sh-t comes out" :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Once again sorry, but please remember, the vast majority of expats here are "Sound as a Pound"

All the best :D :D :D :D

P.S. Roy, OK, not English- are you OK yer Pomme Bar steward?

Trouble is that everyone thinks they're a hard man these days. They don't understand self restraint and acting like a grown up.
