And its me!!!!
Last Sat night I had been down the night market with my TW and our 3 year 9 monthe old son and had a good meal and then returned to the hotel around 9pm. After seeing the family to the room I advised the missus that I was going down to have a couple of beers with my good friend Terry who runs a bar beer down there.
So far so good. Met Terry and he introduced me to a couple of English guys there, a ralph (Big muscely and lots of tats) nice guy but leaving the next day back to the UK and the other guy Tony (Ran the lucky bar) also nice guy. Anyway on my second beer and getting ready to return to Top Mansion when this other English guy (lager lout) enters the bar and pronounces rather loudly to his aquaintance Ralph that he was well and truely hammered and had already been in a fight that night..
Anyway was'nt looking at him and when I turned my head the other way he was there 1 metre away looking at me and clearly had other things on his mind. He steps closer and made some comments about me looking at him wrong and starts provoking a fight but clipping me around the head and not getting an instant response he moves in closer and starts using his forehead in the English manner and eventually forcing me off the other side of my bar stool. Once I put a foot on the ground I don't remember anything until I find myself in front of the bar fridges about 4-5 metres away. I have a lot of pain from behind my left ear and neck and I don't know what happened. I can assume though that I was wacked in the back of the head and left on the floor. My Mate Terry had been away at the time but his partner was over soon with tissues and assistance as I had a bit of a bloody lip.
End result the next day was a puffy eye, nick on the cheek, very tender back of ear / neck, lip and assorted aches and pains. In my 48 years I have never been involved in any type of violence / fight and I will always try and avoid such on any occasion. I have been very happy living in the village out of Udon and my occassional trips into the city for a weekend. I am now re-concidering everything. I do not feel safe at night, especially the day/night complex and surrounding areas. Currently I am happy to be back in the village away from those clowns.
If you see this clown around call the tourist police (We have reported already). His is English (Obviously)about 180cm, fit looking, around 27 - 32 tears of age, bleached hair (possibly red hair originally), cropped on top and maybe wingnuts. Next day I spotted him at Irish Clock for Sunday roast, I turned around and left.
Udon Thani is no longer safe (I used to think it was). Next time to Udon, if there is a next time we won't be anywhere near the centre.

PS anyone know this guy, I believe his name is Jay
