Report & Photo from Udon Today.
Police raided a home in Sukasame Project In Udon yesterday, and arrested a 31 year old Englishman, David Andrew Watson and took possession of a quantity of " Yaa Ice"
Apparently the suspect had been in the habit of recruiting young Thai girls , four or five at a time, to accompany him back to his rented house for a drug and drinks orgy, two or three times a week. He said they all had a party and after he made sex with the girls. This was a regular occurrence he said.
He bought the "Ice " from a dealer in Chonburi. paying 180,000bht a time for it.
He is separated from his Thai wife and lives alone in the house, and has just finished serving with the army as an engineer in Iraq.He came to Thailand bringing 10 million baht with him to enjoy himself.

It would be interesting if they would give him an IQ test and publish it.

This one is kind of a "one off" from what I understand. He has been on the radar screen to a certain degree ever since he arrived so it is safe to say that he was being "supervised." None of us really have any idea of how the Thai police operate - but they do seem to be quite effective in doing whatever it is that they do.

The case can be made that another Brit - a tourist from Pattaya - who was on a bad trip from drugs - is what created the impetus to go after this guy. Took the local police about 8 days to make a solid enough case to get a warrant to search and arrest.

It amazes me how a falang can believe that he can do illegal business in Thailand and go unnoticed ](*,)

I'm glad they put him out of action. Its too bad he got mixed up with dope, maybe he could have done something useful with this part of his life.

If by the use of the word "business" you are implying that he was selling dope as well as using it - at this point there is no evidence that this is what he was doing.

We can all presume or assume that since he was spending 180,000 Baht on the stuff, the odds are good that he was selling it. However, he was arrested with only a small quantity which has been determined to be sufficient only for "personal use."

Sorry you got that impression Stan.

Whether the Brit actually got the drugs from the guy arrested is unknown. It's a he said - he said situation. Inferences can be made, but without solid evidence (which is not possible to obtain from someone who is totally out of it on drugs) those inferences don't amount to a hill of beans.

Whether the drugs were given for free - or purchased is also in question. It is something that no one will probably know since the Brit was so paranoid delusional that he had no idea what happend 24 hours previously, much less 48 hours previously.

Fortunately, he was "exported" back to Pattaya - and is more than likely now back in the UK.

I think some empathy might be in order here.

Seriously.

The person in question had just completed a tour / many tours in Iraq.

If that is not enough to drive you to drug abuse / drive you mad I don't know what is.

Sure, he screwed up but then, he was ordered to partake in the invasion of a peaceful, harmless sovereign state based on a tissue (toilet roll multipack?) of outright lies which the poor sod probably believed and still does.

Sorry FF. He wasn't a soldier. The original article said he was a civilian driver working for the US army A purely voluntary capacity I believe.Maybe the large pay cheque was an incentive. No sympathy here.
