IMHO you can't beat Squires.

Very professional. They are dealing with my gf's UK visa application at this moment.

The office is about 200metres before you get to The President Hotel on the same side of the road. There is a sign outside.

I have a telephone number but want to check that it's a business number and not a personal number before I give it out.

Why don't you just make the aplication yourself, much easier and cheaper, all the info is on the government website.

I've done it myself, at a fraction of the cost that the agents charge.

Kevh,

Thanks for the recommendation of doing it yourself. I did it myself when in the UK and saved about £600, but the situation is way more complicated the second time and I would feel more confident with a bit of extra professional advise.

Thanks all

The office number for Squires is 042241403. You'll probably get through to an office assistant before being put through to the manager.

Yes, agree with you Kev, a lot cheaper to do it yourself, but easier? I prefer to hand over all the info and let someone else deal with the hassle. Stress free.
If like you I was married I would probably do it myself also, but getting Visa for gf not quite so easy.

Top man Galee I shall gve them a look.

I do another general question though - I was married in the UK and got a divorse in Thaialnd, how does that affect my new partners application for a UK visa?

Be great if anybody has any experience on this topic.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Grasshopper, if your G/F is applying to visit you in UK, and you state that you are divorced you may have to provide documentary proof - including a copy of the Decree Absolute registered in UK (with the red stamp on it). You might be lucky and not be asked for this. Good luck.

Hi Gulfman,

I was divosed from my English and Thai weddings (same ex.!) in Thailand, so I have a Decree Absolut with a red stamp from Thailand. Is this ok?

Also, does this mean I need get it translated and verified by the Thai and British Embassies and then register the document and divorse in the UK?

Sh@t this is a lot more compliceted than last time!!

Ahhh Grasshopper (sorry couldn't resist)

As you werre divorced in Thailand - how was this done ? through the courts or through the amphur office

Do you have a divorce certificate ? (looks similar to the marriage one but a bit more sombre).

Why do you need/want to register it back in UK ? are you planning another wedding or something ?

1) Yes, through an Ampher Office, or two, (a lot of hassle for her and not for me  ); with no soliciters, no courts, no expensive bull sh@t (just a reliable translator)

2) Yes and another stamped and signed document which means no financial comebacks or any other mickey mouse hassle, and there is nothing sombre about that for me mate :D

3) Yes in the future (am I nuts, probably yes to that too)

Just wondered if anybody else has done it and what, if any, problems or issues they encountered in the future with this paperwork.

All comments very welcome??
