Thai and Lao visa laws, help and advice...

:lol:For the processing and reporting part of the visa , I have always had very friendly people at NK and BKK!Years ago, some of the people doing the re-entry stamps in BKK were very abrupt, but the last couple of years with the new faster sysstem they to have been very polite!

I had problems at land transport offices with staff showing a contemptiuos or indifferent attitudes at times.Later ,after talking about it to other falangs and Thai locals,I put it down as a setup to get bribes!

Back to immigration!I have seen hundreds of falangs showing loud disrespectful attitudes at Immigration!Usually because the don't have all the needed paperwork or because they think they are misunderstood etc.!
They are lucky,IMO,because if I was the immigration officer that they were shouting at,I would just stamp it refused and walk away!

I remember the feeling of insecurity the first few years though. It is always hard when you are dealing with an authority that has almost absolute say over your life.

From what I have heard, hearsay, over the years ,some of the personel working in the consulates outside of Thailand are the worst!

I think it is the human way of a lowly educated, sometimes completely incompetent person to abuse their power when they realize how much they can!''Power corrupts'' many!

Oh, by the way. I have a friend in a very similar position to yourself where he has only just topped up the 800K for his 'OA' extension which is due next month. He was only about 120K short at the time but he is so rattled at the moment he is looking at airfares. A very nervous month for him also.
DONE - In and out in ten minutes with no problem what so ever. They didn't include his bankbook copies in the application just the bank letter, a copy of the first page of her family book and ID card.
