A friend is investigating the cost of adding insulation to the ceiling of a rather rustic house (corrugated steel roof that makes it like an oven).

He has asked about the approximate cost for some ceiling insulation panels. From memory, these look like they are about 75 cm x 1 meter, about 3 to 5 mm thick and are typically nailed to the ceilings of houses. They look like they are made of asbestos.

Does anybody have an idea of the actual dimensions and cost? If so, would you be so kind as to post the information in this thread?

I would not go near Asbestos if I were him, even if you can still buy it. Fibreglass would be a much safer option,and I assume it is easily available from Home Pro etc.

Why not get fibreglass packed in aluminium foil - proper insulation?

Don't know about the tiles rick, but it may be cheaper to vent it each end and possibly add a fan to improve flow.
