What Ron is suggesting would work - but it is a little extreme to say the least. :D :D
The "get new e-mail address" is certainly sound advice....

LORDY, after reading the above 12 entries, I'm sure glad I'm using a Macintosh. 8)

Ah, it would appear Mac are not exactly as safe as Apple would wish purchasers to believe..

Millions of PC's are affected by viruses, trojans, etc every day. 20,000 Mac users were affected by downloading copies of illegal software. I still consider my Mac to be virus free. But then again, if you read it on Yahoo it must be true !!!!

By the way, Mac owners are advised NOT to use any anti virus programs.

Ron is 100% right, its best to wipe the hard drive clean and start clean periodically. Its not just to get rid of hidden viruses etc but the computers collect a lot of useless garbage that accumulates and slows down the computere and may lead to problems later.

What's an operating system ???????

Having read all of the above, I installed Avast some timne ago and with its egular updates have managed ( touched wood) to be relatively virus / spam/ spyware free for about a year now. i do however run system check every 28 days and defragmenter and virus check, after that do system restore date, thereby it means that I am only one month away from my last restore date if needed.
I also for those that understand, have a hard drive purely for programmes and another one for everything else, so if I needed to i can either reboot, wipe or buy a new hard drive just for opereating programs, oh by the way i have a portable hard drive which holds a complete copy of the programs file when it was last installed.
All the aearch engines yahoo/Google/Hotmail are very active in their virus and spyware checks, but I was also advised many many years ago never use your own own computor email programme always use one of the above, it will also protect your computor more. Just for info for what it is worth.

Thanks to those OP's who have given advice on the various OS's available, to assist in my crash whilst i was OS.

I ran various SPYware programmes, some pick up stuff , some dont !! , the ones that do pick it up, ask for payment before proceeding on further. It was funny how these files i saw being processed included online Casinos , Porn sites , and other crap, none of which i have ever browsed.

Also went and did the System Reboot to the day before my issues started.

Also changed my password.
