For at least the last 5 years those documents have been needed for a B visa at a Thai embassy (or consulate). The guy who wrote the thread is not telling us something. Like what type exactly the B visa is AND more importantly what his job/work is/was in Thailand.

The only real difference since October 1st is that the invitation letter is supposed to originate from the Thai Labour Office in Bangkok and not from the employer (like before). This is so the Labour Office can check the authenticity of the job/company.

In fact there are probably more documants than those listed. The whole process is quite complicated from what i can gather. TIT as they say.

All I needed for my 1 year multiple entry business visa was a letter from my sponsoring company, self-certification guarantee form, visa application, passport, 2 x photos, the visa fee and a self addressed envelope. The visa was issued in under 24 hours.

i agree with lee, i only needed the same documents as lee, and an intersting point is that the sponsoring company does not need to be thai. it can be a company based in any country. mine was english.

Same here. But german.

IMHO it depends heavily on the embassy that you deal with - or better their employee. That reminds me of the nonsense with the work-permit...have to go to find out how to get one without any Thai sponsor, company or whatsoever...

Like I said before It depends on what kind of work you are doing in Thailand.

The OP never actually said what job or work he was going to do.

I would be interested to know what work you applied for in your B visa Lee.

Sent you a pm.

I guess it just depends where you apply for it.

as far as i am aware a meeting described as above would not require the members to have a work permit but they should have all applied for business visas.

the reason that they dont need a work permit is that they are not working for a thai company or being payed into a thai bank account.
