The Ban That Festival will take place from Wed 6th May to Tues 12th events are as follows.
6th Thai Boxing in the evening.
7th Beauty Contest Starting early evening.
8th Big Parade in the Daytime followed by Sing a Song [Karaoke] in the evening.
9th Rockets most of the day, and a concert afternoon & evening starring "Karabin".+ a big market all day.
10th 11th &12th rockets all day & partying Thai style + market & food & drink stalls.
If you've never been to the festival before it is worth a visit if only for the rockets which are some of the biggest in NE Thailand, really spectacular in a great location overlooking the big lake.
Want to sit down & chill out for a while Ban That has one Farang style bar with large bottles of Leo & H/ken etc from 50 bht a go. An ideal place to watch the Parade with plenty of seating . Mine host is Malcolm, An English bloke with an Aussie accent ????? [ I have no Commercial interest in this business ].

Ban That is in Ampher Phen district. From Udon take the main road towards Nong Khai for about 30 ks Until you see the overhead sign for Phen do the short u turn & head Towards Phen for about 6-7 ks Ban That is signed off to the left or just follow the numerous banners etc, Enjoy.
