If you can cope with being 10 minutes outside of the town - then you will not find better value accomodation. Starts at 280 baht and has seperate kitchen bedroom and living room. TV - Fridge - cooker etc.
Swimming pool, Tennis Court and Multigym.
Can be quiet - so if you like the nightlife, be prepared for a trip into Udon.

You'd definitely need your own transport up there though.

Hi there,

Yes I've stayed there at the BB resort - Cheap for what you get. I had lounge, bedroom x 2, big kitchen and bathroom for about 500 baht. It's a bit tricky to find. On the Udonmap it shows it in G1 grid ref. but it's not to scales so it foxed me at first. You have to travel probably 2 or 3 kms up that road and you will see a sign for it on the left. Turn left and about 200/300 metres you will see a sign pointing right - turn right there and you're there!

I miss Udon so much it ain't funny. The g/f has a night market shop now and it's doing ok - the first of our businesses in Udon!! Can't wait to get back there - I'm in Australia/Tasmania. I must get down to the Full Moon next time I'm there - yet to go but I've been to plenty of the other bars. Ah well, I'll just have to dream about slugging back an ice-cold Singha while looking at the Singha and Tiger beer girls. They are reason enough to visit time and again!

Cheers :D

Sorry to change subject (it's allowed here..) but your post has prodded my mind into remembering to post something about swimming pools in the hot season.

For those who live on or near Romyen 3 and do not already know, PM me to ask about the very nearest available, superbly clean and cheap pool you can use for 20B, all day if you want.

For others (I know who lives in the area), no chance..it's very quiet usually and I'd love to keep it that way. Selfish?? Yes, guilty m'lud

The wife and I stayed for a couple of weeks at the end of February and it was enjoyable. Rooms cleaned everyday, quiet, pool Ok. We had a problem with the door latch one night after coming home from dinner and the owner himself went and purchased a new latch to install that night. I was pleased with the place. It is a little ways out but i liked the quiet of
the place.

Thanks for the info, Allen.

Now in Udon so went out and met Mr Wasn, a fine gent, and he showed me a couple of his bungalows. Nice and reasonable in the 450 Baht range. Also advised that he has motorcycles for rent since location is a bit isolated from center city. In-laws all in Nongsai so we decided to stay in downtown area. BTW, pool was being serviced while I was there. Looks like a quiet, reasonable place for anyone staying for more than a few days.

I've not stayed there but did go and check it out for someone who was thinking of staying there. Actually I have been there twice and met the owner.

I really liked the quiet setting and there were some stunning houses in the compound. I think some of these were for rent as well. A couple of monkees playing in the front of one of the houses made the setting even nicer.

I spoke to a couple of the longer term residents and they showed me through their accommodation and for what you paid it seemed ideal. They did comment that there had been some problems with the pool, a couple of kids had cut their feet on loose tiles on the bottom. The pool looked great though.

Location? I'd agree about 10 mins from town but on fairly wide roads.

Apparently not all BB Resort accomodations are the same, but can anyone advise me of an approximate monthly cost to rent a BB Resort bungalow?
