Big C 50 Baht coupon 1&2 april

PostAuthor: thalenoi » March 31, 2009, 5:41 pm

Need to hit Udon Thani tomorrow to visit vet with our Shi Tzu (and wife is allergic to dog hair, will thus drive alone)
and was given 4 Big C folders with instruction to buy, buy, buy, buy: 4 coupons 50 Baht equals 200B savings....

Could not find details on BC website, seems you get 50B discount for every 500B you buy, not sure GF realizes this though  I am not going to buy for 4k baht stuff I don't need to save 200 Baht ](*,)

OK, an other point for discussion tonight with GF....

any of you follow these promotions???

Will go look for "krachai dam" also as mentioned other tread

Hmm, is it only a coincidence that Big C decides to offer this promotion on the same days as Carrefour's grand opening :-k .

Don't get too excited lads. The small print specifically excludes alcohol. :crying:

Only a coincidence \:D/

What amuses me is how big of a deal retailers here of a 1% to 5% promotion. Do people really go nuts for such meager savings?

Well this started a few days ago when wife came home from the village with 3x30B Lotus coupons, valid same day. She got them from some neighbor who could not afford to travel the 2x8kms to the nearest Lotus. So we went and had the cashier lady to make 3 check bins, one for each voucher :(

So yesterday again, returning from the village with 4 Big C fliers, thinking the same: just go, buy and get your reduction. I did show the wife the text on the flier, apparently stating you need to buy for 500B to benefit from the 50B reduction and maximum 5 coupons per family. So she read the flier also and backed out, no need to stop at Big C today... :D

Seems many just listen to people without doubting what they say nor checking, again something to do with Thai culture :-"

30 baht may seem like a small saving to us, but think what it represents to an average Thai; about one hours pay. If my local tesco in Uk offered me £5-10 off my shopping, of course i would be there! It is necessary to think rationally, and consider the value against the costs. When i get a voucher, i consider what it would cost me to use it; and would i need to buy certain products anyway?
But thats the point, the voucher is not a free lunch, it is a promotion to get you in the shop. it will never be bigger than the shops potential profit from your visit; it is up to the customer to ruthlessly exploit it if it is beneficial, and dump it if not.
