I don’t “regret” leaving my home country. But there are a lot of things I miss, as I had a long and happy life there (except for a couple of marriages that went south). And I am very happy here in paradise with my angel of a Thai wife. The big fight today made me long to be back in my hometown of Las Vegas. I’m not a big boxing fan, but when there was a blockbuster fight, it was fun to go down to the MGM Grand and people watch. The real show is in the lobbies outside the arena. They fly in a bunch of high-class hookers from LA, and they and their pimps and the drug dealers are amazing to watch. You will see any sort of humanity you can imagine - - and some you can’t imagine. One big black dude, must have weighed 300 pounds, wearing a fur coat - - even though it was in the hundreds outside - - festooned with all kinds of golf chains around his neck and a big black fedora with a huge red feather sticking out of it. I happened to be within ear shot of this specimen and his vocabulary consisted mainly if the MF word. I figured him to be either a drug dealer or an NFL player - - or maybe both, All kinds of women in vinyl outfits that looked like they were sprayed on and almost contained their ample bosoms.

Then to go outside where the VIP limos arrive and join the crowd of groupies and paparazzi. One little girl next to me started crying and screaming hysterically as some skuzzy looking guy got out of a limo. After she had calmed down I asked her who he was. Turned out he was some soap opera star, and she was incredulous that I didn’t know that. Then there are the Texas oil billionaires that show up with a couple of hot little barely legals on their arms.

Yes I miss those days, but I wouldn’t go back there to live, even if I could afford it - - which I can’t.
