I past through there today and notice it's business as usual. With the deadline fast approaching I would think there would be some evidence of moving. I wonder if the business owners are holding out or just waiting to the very last minute. Any new updates?

I dropped by for a drink early evening yesterday.
As far as I am aware everyone is still expecting to finish on the 30th. I did notice some signs of moving equipment in one of the bars while I was there.
I know that quite a few of the owners in Soi Falang are moving to the new site in Soi Sampantamit which will not be ready for a couple of months yet. So I guess any equipment will have to be put in storage for a while. Also they are "paid up" to 30th. so may as well make money while they can..

Went into town to watch football. Told gf I would be back at 9.00pm.
After football strolled down farang alley and met various friends, eventually getting home around 11.00pm.
Get home to find gf asleep in her car. There had been a mix up with door keys.
When I said to her why didn't you ring me to come home she said, "you have good time, I not want to disturb".
Now you tell me if a western bitch would have been as understanding?

Understanding and western women in same sentence? No sorry just can't get my head around it. So what's happening down the alley? Are they ready to ship out?

I noticed a sudden influx of Chelsea fans in Udon last night ........... odd but I can't remember seeing them last week .... or the week before .... or the one before that.... suppose they must have had trouble finding their way out of the woodwork!!

I'm in town most Saturday nights, so last night wasn't a one-off.

If you were in the same bar as me, hope my shouting didn't spoil your enjoyment of the game.

Thats the one, went in there once and some numbnuts told me to leave, his words "This is our f***in bar as****e, get the f**k out or get taken to hospital"............... after asking him if he owned the bar the actual owner, a big guy tattooed head to foot name of Chris apologised and said "this is the riff raff I have to deal with" and punched the guy on the jaw............. I did drink up and check bin though........... So I was told afterwards the owner was at some point the head honcho of the Chelsea boot boys.......... WOW "boot boys" that takes me back.............lol

Very little activity on the main road side.
The new bar complex is very near to Top Mansion, so gone are the early nights, but I do understand the leases are only for 3 years anyway.

UP2U and Fifty Fifty vacated, the only two that had a customer base (except aussie pub), so the rest looked busier this afternoon when i strolled thru. Up2U is the only one i really munched at, used to be a weekly stop, good yellow curry and panaeng. hope they relocate and don't pack it in.
