As for the original question, I use easy CDA converter. I bought a program CD at the complex and it was on it, you can do bulk conversions in 1 pass

13 programs had an update...
Some were programs I seldom use (like IE & messenger) but I figured that if they were worth space on the pc, then it may as well be the latest version.
1 (WMP) I had no intention of upgrading...
Included CCCleaner - which surprised me as I have that on "search for updates" & only used it yesterday.
1 was a Java program which I am having some issues installing the upgrade, but will sort tomorrow.
The big one for me (both in terms of size & importance) was that there is a new version of Open Office available - so I am now on version 3.0.1 instead of 2, so more exploring on the differences to that tomorrow...
It didn't show an upgrade from AVG 8 to 8.5, so I guess that is either because 8 is still supported & my virus databases are up to date, or (more likely) hippo have not yet got a free source for an 8.5 download.
