Burning music CDs

PostAuthor: BobHelm » March 31, 2009, 9:32 pm

The TG bought a CD in the complex - Thai music (100 songs) to play in the car when she is driving...
Problem was they are MP3 (hence 100 on 1 CD) & the car will not play them.
So, ever the "knight in shining armour" ( well always needing the points is probably nearer the mark :D ) I said I would convert for her.
So went for a google & was very careful to enter "Free" and exclude "Trial" I start downloading....
I downloaded 6 such programs & ALL turned out to be trial versions - pay to get something that works....no way, I would go into town & buy a program (if that was the only way) but I object to any company that pretends its program is free to waste time to download & install & find out it isn't - they have ZERO chance of getting any cash out of me then...
Eventually I found Express Burn
http://www.nch.com.au/burn/index.html
Nice little program (along with with some others about music & video burning & format alteration), that shows how much room is on the CD & burns quickly & very easily.
So now her 1 CD has been replaced by 5 - which work....maybe time to upgrade the music player in the car...or maybe not.... :D :D :D

If you use windows media player you can just add the MP3 files to be burned

It will automatically convert them to make an audio CD that can be played in any CD player

Tried that Gaz & failed dismally.... :( :(
I (personally) find WMP a real bitch to use - about as user friendly as most of MS products (Office excepted :D ).
Found a "training session" on line on "How to do"...Sadly it was for version 11 - which you have to submit to "Authority checking" of the validity of your Windows Environment in order to install - something that (from past experience) I know I would fail & end up with issues with Microsoft about!!!

Same here.Like Bob, never had success. But slightly different .I download loads of video songs. But most are either avi or mpeg format. They wont play on a normal domestic DVD PLAYER.
I have tried so many convert to dvd format programmes. many will only give 5 minutes each file. There are some that works but a watermark is displayed across the screen
I have NERO Express.Never works. All I get is "Format not found"... very basic.
While on the subject, Is there a way of downloading Window Medea player, other than from Window's?
otherwise I will get a "WGA " stuck on my computer.
But If these programmes were free, how would they make a profit? You Pays your money and takes your choice.Yes! "FREE DOWNLOAD" But it isnt really.Like Limewire. Its free, but download videos takes forever. You need to pay for PRO Limewire so you get a faster speed.

Here in England you can get a dvd player which plays DivX movies
that means that you can download you movies from limewire etc and burn them to a dvd as the original file (i.e .avi) and put upto 6 movies on 1 DVD without rendering them

I am sure that you will be able to get these dvd players in thailand

And on the subject of limewire, you just need to download the free limewire then download the PRO version that has been cracked with your free limewire

That way you dont have to pay for anything!!!

Ehh, too easy. Use IMGBURN, It's a 100% free deal, and UK company, with zero hassles. It even burns ISO's.

Simple, but the best on the market for anything as far as burning, is NERO. Work with it. Simple, and easy interface. Even monkeys, can do this. Ma Falangs, maybe? Anything is possible. Also, those that use Vista, Vista Ultimate Edition, has a very nicely incorporated burning software along side the media player interface. Look into it. Home editions suck. Upgrade.

Also, nearly all DVD/ home theater systems will play nearly all formats, including DIVX, and so many others. Same as I-phone stuff. MP3, MP4, AVI, dah, dah, dah, the list goes on. Search, and find.

Peace

More tosh.

Did, in any of that waffle, you address how to convert the MP3 files back to CD audio files? :fryingpan:

If you have Nero, you can select 'Encode Audio Files' from the Quickstart menu and convert your MP3s to WAV files, which can then be burnt to CD.

As others have stated, doing this with Windows Media Player is usually easier, but I haven't downgraded my WMP 10 to 11 as it sucks.

There are loads of free programs that will convert MP3s to WAVs.

Could well be correct panick :D :D
Morti, to play videos I use this program - free - it is a little less "sensitive" than WMP about what it will play. I have seen programs that will remove the watermark, but none free, &, of course they are probably technically illegal to use

I think Gaz is suggesting that you search on Limewire for a Program called "limewire Pro" & then download this program from the 'seeds' that are available - not the official Limewire site.... :D

click on later or no, or click on the X and close that window.

be careful of what you download, if you do not see a mouse over of the credits or info, you will be downloading a trojan. always mouse over for a confirmation on the songs title
