Our 11 year old son has just gone down with chickenpox. The first symptoms were the unusual red spots on his back, then his chest ,and after his face. some of these had blister like white heads on. Took him to hospital where my diagnosis was confirmed and treatment given. My reason for posting was the lack of awareness amongst other parents of the very contagious nature of this disease and the need for isolation. He actually told us some of his playmates had the same symptoms.I presume the teachers would know the signs to watch for, but as this is the school holidays they are out playing all day and the parents seemingly are not aware. So if you have got young kids watch them close. There apppears to be a minor epidemic around.
