Our 11 year old son has just gone down with chickenpox. The first symptoms were the unusual red spots on his back, then his chest ,and after his face. some of these had blister like white heads on. Took him to hospital where my diagnosis was confirmed and treatment given. My reason for posting was the lack of awareness amongst other parents of the very contagious nature of this disease and the need for isolation.He actually told us some of his playmates had the same symptoms.I presume the teachers would know the signs to watch for, but as this is the school holidays they are out playing all day and the parents seemingly are not aware.So if you have got young kids watch them close. There apppears to be a minor epidemic around.

We had it in the Wifes Village about eighteen months ago, all the kids were brought around to play together parents wanting to get it out of the way better to get it young than when you grow up and complications can set in

Back in UK a friend of my brother brought his baby round to show him and my brother held the baby, his friend forgot to tell him that the baby had chickenpox.Since my brother never had chickenpox at school,he then got it at 35yrs old and was very ill.So try to remember if you had the chickenpox at school because it can be dangerous if infected later in life.
Do not complain that you have chickenpox just because you have a spotted dick,totally unrelated
