Chiropractor in Udon or Nong Khai?

PostAuthor: charlie » May 25, 2008, 8:08 am

After 11 hours hunched up in a China Airlines 747 economy seat, 1 hour on Nok Air, an enthusiastic reunion with my TGF and a night on a Thai mattress, I am now supplying much joy and amusement to my Girlfriend and family by walking around doubled up and muttering oooh, aaah.

Somehow I have managed to put my back out!

Does anyone know of a Chiropractor in Nong Khai or Udon?

oooh, aaah.

NOoooo! Not in Udon,KK,Korat or NK.BK has them all except I heard about 1 in Pattays 3-4 years ago!

I take some muscle relaxants,Ibuprofen and Valiums, get on the overnight sleeper to BK,take the subway to Soi Cowboy and my Chiro is one block away.

Good Luck!

Where is your back ''out''?Lower or upper? There is a Chinese massuese that myself and a couple of other guys have used with some success for the upper(Thoracic vert
area) in NK,She mostly works on the feet, but she also does a sudden upward back motion that helps reset thoracic area problems!Stay away from traditional Thai massages, they only exacerbate the problem!!!

I suffer from chronic cervical(neck) and Lumbar(lower back) problems with an ocassional Thoracic problem caused by the 2 chronic cerv and Lumbar sublaxations!

I just spoke with a guy yesterday regarding the need for Chiropractic, he told me there's one at the Watana , Watanabe, (SP) hospital by the big lake.
Never heard this before, but probably worth checking into.

In fact, about 90% of the techniques that chiropractors use are copied from Tui-Na traditional Chinese massage.

I've suffered with lumbar problems for years and have used the service of a chiropractor for years before coming over here. I needed one last week and of course there were none available. A friend has been using acupuncture quite successfully and so I thought I'd give it a try. Went to the Dr. at Udon Hospital and although it was not a 'pain free' experience, IT WORKS!! Forewarning... the needles weren't terribly painful until she attached the electrical pulsation machine - FOR 20 MINUTES. Felt it was a form of torture but was able to withstand it for the duration. The good news, I went to the driving range and hit 3 trays of balls that afternoon and then played 18 holes the next morning. :D :D :D

 That sounds like a possible alternative!

What was the cost and the name of the acupuncturist?

Stan, there several in the area. One has a clinic across from the Police Station in Udon. She works at Udon Hospital in mornings and runs her clinic in the PM/evenings (she in at St Paul Hosp. on Sat.). The name is Dr. Suknee (who knows if I've spelled it right?). I went to see her at Udon Hosp. because my wife works there and I get all my hospitalization services free. At her clinic my friend said he paid B350 or B400. He has seen her a couple times and I'm scheduled to return the first week of June.

Would recommend using her services at her clinic because I spent over 2 hours at the hosp. because there were so many other patients. They had about 10 beds with curtains separating each patient. By using her clinic you can get serviced almost immediately. :D

I am not sure about 'traditional thai massage' but after a day of agony yesterday, the young daughter of our neighbour 'stretched' my spine using her feet last night.

It wasnt pleasant, but this morning I can walk upright! and it feels the same as the result of having spent 60 quid at my chiro back in the UK.
The acupunture sounds good though, and I will also be checking it out.

Now I cant wait to start planting some rice!!
