There was a thread asking about electric a while back, couldn’t find, so stuck this here. But, cleaning up the files, throwing out old house bills/receipts, in case those not here yet and interested.
Electric for year 2007 Jan - Dec, averaging 1700 baht a month, with a high of 2433 in June, and low of 1080 in January. Unit price fluctuated between 3.2 -3.8 per unit of electric, inclusive of all charges and taxes. The actual electric charge fluctuated from 0.7342 (Feb.), 0.8544 (June), 0.6611 (dec). Dec 2006 it was 0.7842. Now, aug 2008, it’s 0.6285. The electric itself is inexpensive, it’s the service charge that is the majority of the bill. 330-675 units per month.
Jan 1080 ....... july 2284
Feb 1128 ...... aug 2016
March 1887 .... sept 2069
April 1825 ...... oct 1297 (school break)
May 1923 ...... nov 1260
June 2433 ...... Dec 1106
Electric usage for 150 m2 house, with 4 ac’s, approx. 30 K BTU’s running 16 hours a day when hot, and just fans when not. 2 refrigerators, 1 lg, 1 sm, 2 computers, 2 TV’s, couple fans, minimal lights, coffee maker / toaster, occasional microwave for reheats and water pump.
Now, new place, one bedroom ac, maybe 13 k BTU‘s, plus the rest of appliances, the bill averages 1400-1600 in hot weather, ac on 16 hours a day average. Actually electric charge is 0.6285 per unit.
Old house I would definitely describe myself as abusive with ac usage, as I would cool a large area w 30 K BTU’s, just to drink coffee and use internet. Now I fall into the miser range, since just the one ac in the place, but on 16 hrs a day, at least. So again, inexpensive for electric here.
