Dark bread wanted

PostAuthor: mangon1947 » January 25, 2009, 2:59 pm

I would like to find pumpernickle, dark (black) wheat or dark rye bread. Even a light rye would be fine. Also, looking for bagels here. Anyone know where I can look????

Thanks,
Ed

Nobi certainly used to have Ed. But it has been a while since I have looked. If not, I am sure he could tell you where you could get.

Prenders, when Nobi first opened he used to have a sign on his bread "Made by Rudi, Nong Khai". (It was dam good bread too :D ). Do you know if that is still the case??? A little bird told me Nobi was experimenting with making his own???? Maybe the man himself can tell us ??? :D :D

I agree, Deiter's Rauch Kate on Aydulyadet Rd has what the OP needs.

Good morning!
After I tried to deal with people who made dark bread from different places,Udon,Nongkai,
some American Guy made my bread for a while, and he had big plans to open a Bakery Shop in Udon....
Faithless about too much drinking,dirty(Nongkai)
Unfriendly,not able to deal with(Udon)
Run out of money and escaped back to US.(Amer.)

I Gave up.
I bought the equipement from the American,I showed him before, how to make German Bread.
At first,it was a hard decision for me to make my own bread, everybody know what that means.
but for now I'm happy with that.
Not drink too much in the evening, stand up early,
have a nice coffee beside, waiting my stuff are comming one by one....
But I will never open a Bakery Shop.I'm a Farmer and making Sausages.
But - a Farmer know how to make a bread, doesn't he?
Bread is ready roundabout 11.00 am every day. After 2 hours I put the rest into deep frozen,if it"s not empty.
We have Dark rye bread, white bread,Burger Buns ,Hot Dog Buns and Rolls.

In Nongkai there is a Rolf,Swissguy at the Mekong, behind the Market.
He has nice German Bread too, comming from a German guy, livin in Korat.

See you hopefully soon
Nobi

The sourdough rye bread at Rauch Kate is the one that I believe is far better than other breads.

Understand? Try the sourdough rye!

Hello
Thanks for the inputs - I'm still trying to find the Deiter Rauch place - anyone have a phone number or address?

BTW - how does one find places in Udon if the address in not known? Actually I have had trouble finding places even with directions - usually have to get close and then ask again for directions. Is there any secret way to find your way around here?

Thanks Again,

Deiter's Rauch Kate is on Soi Adunyadet, the road that is effectively behind the Charonsri Complex. Deiter's is about half way up that street.

As for a secret no... I rely on directions on here or talking to other fahlang here. Sometimes driving around I just stumble upon a place and it's a case of "So that's where it is."

Found deeters and will make it a regular stop for me whenever I need breads or some of the other products there.

Sourdough bread was great and the apple turnovers were excellant!

Thanks a lot for the help finding it.
