Just wondering if anyone has bought any dvd's latrely that they would recommend or not recommend!

I found a sleeper,to me,called ''Taken'' with Liam Neeson,that I thought was excellent!''Traitor'' was also interesting.

''In Bruges'' and ''The Outpost'' were real disappointments to me!

This is a good idea Stan - hope it catches on... I too, really enjoyed your two picks, especially Taken.

Good ones I've seen lately are:
Charlie Wilson's War (based on true events)
Traitor
The Great Debaters (based on true events)

Not worth my time:
Cloverfield

Don't usually like Jason Statham but enjoyed "The Bank Job." Good British gangster flick based on a real bank heist in London in the early 70's.

"Inside Man" with Denzil Washington and Clive Owen worth a look.

Not new but loved "The Departed" with Jack Nicholson and Leo Di Caprio.

It's a couple of years old now but "Crash," Sandra Bullock (dispensing with her usually dippiness), Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon and Terence Howard is excellent but disturbing.

I'm now halfway through 24 hours of CSI:NY... Time for coffee...

Great idea for a thread.

Employee Of The Month - 2004, with Matt Dillon and Christina Applegate, not the 2006 one with Dana Cook. A fun, quirky movie with a surprise ending. Be sure to watch the credits.

The guy in the back of the NM usually has them on sale for 80 baht and a buy 5 get one free option. Also, I've been going to him for about a year now and he's never balked at taking one back that I said wasn't 'up to par'. He allows me to exchange or if he doesn't have that particular film on hand then he lets me take something else in its place.

fatbas***d, the 'torrents' sound good but I really don't have the time to sit through a download which as I understand it, may take HOURS to complete. I assume if there's any little hiccup with the internet connection, all is lost and you must start over - if so, does this include lost time AND a lost DVD? It just seems easier to me to jump on my m/c, go to the NM, pick-up 6 DVD's (many with multiple movies on them if you like), get DVD cases with proper labels and be back home in less than an hour for 400 baht.
