I suppose that all this runnin' around the country (or two ) will all be null and void as I am about to exit thailand and the results of my "O" visa is "still under consideration ?" Difficult to get a exit visa on an O visa if one does not have an o visa. Any ideas?

I would think that you can exit based on your existing visa.

All of the re-entry permits that I have had (I think this is the same as the "exit visa" you referred to) have been made based my current extension of stay -they all had the same expiration date as the current extension.
