Fake bomb in Bangkok

A woman believed to have placed a fake bomb in front of an internet shop on Petchaburi soi 37 in Bangkok about 1am on Tuesday is being hunted by police.

Police, responding to a call, arrived at the scene about 3am prepared to defuse a package tied with black tape and electric wire.

They found a piece of paper placed on it, saying, "Let's escape. Police are tracking us."

Police said that on examination the package proved harmless.

They said CCTV footage showed a woman placing a package at the scene about 1am.
