Paul, the forum is the only place I have heard about it. If this really happened, my wife would have told me and been on my case about it. She hates for me to go out on my own at nights, she afraid something would happen to me.
More information would be helpful, as to where he was from, where you got your information, simple little things like that. When reporting any news, the basic, who, what, where, when, why and how it happened....would help alot.

i can assure you it did happen the police have been to visit him in aek udon as for further details i feel that giveing personel details about him is not for me to say / as for my source its a very good one after 6 years back and forward from udon 1 home 1 wife 1 car 1 motorbike and a falang noi i dont waist my time **** and i dont like ****
udon is slowly filling up with enoff of them

Nobody is accusing you of inventing anything as far as I can see!. Its just that no details at all (you can keep to yourself what you deem to be private) do not really, at least, help anybody else to avoid the same fate.

As an example, if there was a gang wandering around Udon beating up random farang, that would indeed be worthy of inclusion as a news item.

The details of your possessions including the falang noi, don't really add to the OP.

Requests for a bit more information, and your source, don't really seem out of place.

sorry as for a gang i dont think thats the case but iam not sure as far as i know he was hit from behind but ive not spoken to him myself
all is cards have been cancelled from what ive been told as for the reason for the attack i wouldent like to say

Its about a drunken falang in Udon Centre who has annoyed some Thai people. People here tend to be open and honest...so here we go, you should post it here:

its a shame that you must post the name of a resident of udon on the website without there permission when they have had some bad luck
to surgest he deserves to be beaten to the ground i despair you dont know the facts but you judge as for been open and honest does that mean you must shout your mouth giveing personel details out and blameing out of hand thais for this attack when there is more then a slight chance it could have been anybody there are quiet a few ding bat falangs

Do you need someones permission to print their name in a news story concerning themselves ? If this happened in phuket,bangkok,pattaya, i am sure it would be reported in pattaya mail or phuket news equivalant, with a photo of injured party, complete with full name and country of residence.

If it was not or was a fault of their own i am sure it will all come out in the wash soon and anyone interested can make their own mind up.

With a hard hitting head-line like falang beaten and robbed near complex, people would naturally want more info.

AS Jack Friday would say only the fact sir and nothing but the facts. By only saying a word or so you leave it to the imagination. Maybe if all was said at first, with no names, I could draw my opinion. By saying little left me with the feeling had something to hide.

If have something to be leery of don't say at all is the point here.

Nothing is suggested and nobody blamed, in fact your PM (you want to tell some people for some reason, yet object to it been on the forum) makes even less sense than the OP, at least to me. Thats the problem is'nt it, everbody is left guessing?

As said "only the facts sir and nothing but the facts", if it is a secret, for whatever reason, perhaps do not put it here at all? If the gentleman concerned was an innocent party he will most likely receive much sympathy, and others here may well be able to avoid a similar fate, surely the point of "news"

The difference between a row between two people and a random mugging is huge.A little clarity would be nice.

There is no need to include any personal details but something along the lines of when, where, and possibly why would go to serve a great help to other members here and to give a clue as to whether they should be more aware in future when in whatever vicinity this happened in.

With all the above bickering - we still don't know where, when or possibly why and it makes everyone a little nervous - when there is may be no need ?
