Yes its Songkran time again and once again City Hall are holding the now annual farang son in law festival. If you remember last year I posted about the samlor through the town parade ,the dancing girls, and the free food and beers in the evening at city hall. However a few members were not happy because I didn't mention it in advance but I had assumed you had all had an invite. well this year , in case you haven't heard again, its tomorrow, the 11th. Sorry its such short notice but I only just found out myself. Apparently some banners have been strung across the major roads for a few days now, but of course not in English, but Thai. It looks like it going to be a repeat of last year activities, so it should be fun. I don't know the full details so get your TW or Tg to read the banners or call City Hall. It should be great fun.

Last year I was in the parade myself, even got it on dvd. Unknown to me, I was to meet my TW at Nong Prajak, where a wedding ceremony was to be peformed (didn't even know, the TW didn't tell me). After the wedding ceremony, they call several up of up on stage, (didn't know that it was a contest either, TW didn't tell me)and asked us question. When I was on TW and myself were on our way up to the stage, now that is when the TW told me!!!!!! It was fun anyways, and since I will be going to Nakhon Si Thamarat, I will miss it this year. By the way, TW and I took third runner up, received the key to the city of Udon Thani City International, as they put it. So guys, grab your TW and get into the parade, the wedding cermony (which by the way is a mock ceremony), into the contest and show yourself and your beautiful TW off, and maybe you will take 1st place. You will have have, lots of FREE beer I had and food.

So, did any of you sons-in-law attend this year's festivities? Gotta admit that I was envious last year when Valentine vividly described it all in the old forum but unhappy? Nope. The idea of being in a parade with dancing girls and free beer. Ahhhh. It definitely IS Paradise.
