[quote="stoneman"]Well, hopefully the rains will be over in a few more weeks...no rain here in Bangkok for almost a week...

And the time has come to start to work on adding dirt to our building site in Bang Wor Sor.

Thanks for all the input and information...We are coming up to Udon Thani next month and want to get the dirt hauling started. If there is anyone in the Bang Wor Sor area that has used a dirt contractor, I would really appreciate it if you would PM me his name and phone number.

Stoneman. Bang Wor Sor ? No such place. Nong Wor Sor maybe? That is a very big province over 200 sq miles. Maybe you mean the village of Bang Nong Wor Sor? That is just off the Udon-Loie road, or could be Amphoe Nong Wor Sor which is near my village of Nong Wai. They are more than 20kms apart. Let me know the name of the actual village you are going to live in and I can get you a phone number of a local supplier. :D

Valentine...You are correct...Sorry about that, but my translating from my wife's Thai to English is difficult. Yes the land is in a village near Amphoe Nong Wor Sor. The name of the village sounds like Rai Nam or something similar to that. There are a lot of farangs in the area. The two homes next to ours belong to an American and an Englishman and across the fielsd is a home owned by a Greman.. Hope this makes more sense.. Appreciate your effort

OkayStoneman, got your bearings now. The village name is Ban Rai Gnam. Gnam as in meaning sui, pretty, not Nam as in water. There are two villages together, the adjoining one is Ban Pa Rai.They are nice little villages about 5 kms from Ban Nong Wor Sor and about 25kms from mine.Roughly 20kms from Udon centre. Now the infill. the company is Udon Wong Ya. The phone number 081-7086861 or 085-011427. Khun Surlack. They operate their own tippers and tractor so no middlemen involved. The last delivery I had was just over a year ago and they charged 1,000bht for 3 tipper loads and 50bht per load for tractor, but that will undoubtly have gone up as diesel has increased considerably.Hope this is helpful to you. :)

Valentine...Thanks very much...We have made contact with Khun Surlack (phone number is 085-0114278) and the current price is 500 baht per truck plus 50 baht for tractor. The price is up because he is having to haul it further. This seems reasonable, so next mnth we will be hauling dirt..Thanks for your help

Well, rather than waiting the month to get started...The dirt man said he was ready and my wife's aunt lives down the street, so 80 loads were hauled and levelled over the weekend. I am thinking that I would like to get grass started on this now.. Need to get a well drilled and pump house built and then will bring in sod.. That way we will not have the dirt washing away come next rainy season..Thanks for everyone's help..
