fingerlings....catfish and ruby talapia

PostAuthor: parrot » April 28, 2009, 1:47 pm

Our longtime source of fingerling fish, catfish and others, was located in PK3 housing but is no longer there. We tried the place near Nongprajak, both the government fishery (part of Mekong River Commission) and the privately owned place across the street. The MRC only stocks regular talapia and no catfish. The privately owned place is always overpriced and the owners seem to care less about helping a customer. Does anyone know of a place near the Udon area that sells a variety of fingerlings?

Parrot, on the road to Nong Khai take the next U turn after the Cat Crane hire place & directly on your left you will see some ponds, this is a Thai family business that sells all types of fingerlings at a good price. I have used them for years now & the fish have always been healthy & little or no mortallity after transfer to your own water.
good luck

Bought our fish today at the place that Geordie recommended. 30% cheaper than what the guy at PK3 was charging. Thanks again for the tip!!
