What happen to getting a dog from the pound? Does Obama pay for expenses or is our tax money used? I think a Thai Soi dog would have been more appropriate.

His daughter has an allergy to dogs. I gather that this particular breed (Portuguese Water Dog) is a recommended breed for someone with allergies.
The dog was a gift from Democratic Senator Edward Kennedy who owns 3 such dogs.

I imagine the same situation will exist as existed for GWB's two dogs...
