will your computer accept it from a flash drive, as i could download it, and transfer to you. though i have, plus real player, i find myself using vlc a lot, for movies. i do like the music library set up on media player though. let me know if you can do and want, i'll download it.

You've not said which type of file you want to play.

That's fair enough.

If you're talking about streamed videos from someone like the BBC, then you need a media player like WMP or VLC (the best, by a long shot), but if you're talking about watching vids from sites like YouTube it will be an flv file which is viewed through Flash as a plug-in in your browser.

I suspect you're talking about the latter, so we then need to determine which browser you use. As you have already stated you're not a computer head, so you probably need shooting and still use Windows IE. You need to make sure your shockwave flash plug-in is the latest version, so go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and do what it tells you to do.

Make sure activeX is allowed and then go to macromedia and install flash. You will be asked if you want to install the toolbar so just select "NO' and flash will finish installing.

If you have a firewall you may be asked by it to allow flash components to run so allow it.

That should sort you out. If by some miracle you use Firefox, follow the same link and do as it asks.

If this doesn't work, let us know exactly what you did and exactly what the problem is, as a few vague sentences are no use to anyone if you really want help.

Also, you can use this software, and it is awesome. I like my movies and TV shows as much as any other guy.

Enjoy.
