Forum photo album is back

PostAuthor: lee » April 24, 2009, 11:10 am

During the forum upgrade in 2008 the members photo gallery was removed because it was not compatible with the latest version. Therefore the album and photos it contained was removed.
I have now installed a new photo gallery mod which is compatible with the latest version of the forum software, its easier to use than the old version and allows members to create up to 5 personal albums via their user control panel.
When a member creates a new gallery it will be displayed here: gallery/?mode=personal

You can create a new personal gallery by clicking 'user control panel'.

And then click 'gallery'.

You can then click 'manage personal albums' and upload your images or create subalbums. The maximum file size for each image is 130k and you can upload up to 50 images per album.

Or if you'd prefer not to create your own album you can upload your images to the general forum gallery.

When you create a new personal album, the icon link to your album will be displayed under your username:

Any questions? Please let me know. :D

yes..the one where it starts off with a 'pretty' looking girls face...then when you click on it to see the full image she/he was standing there with tackle on full display..been on there ever since i joined, did have a massive amount of views though..(an very early member posted it but they don't seem to be around now)...still its gone, surprised it stayed on there for years though.

Would it be possible to have an "open forum" type option for posting photo's - for UM members to put photo's of their travels and adventures outside UT, I found laphanpon's recent photos of his tour around thailand very interesting as well as gits photo's of the dog he run over and killed - both being nothing to do with UT but interesting all the same, so is there somewhere UM members can post their photo's that are not strictly related to UT but maybe of interest to others. - \:D/

I've created a couple of galleries for members to upload photos.

Udon Thani.
gallery/album.php?album_id=12

Thailand Photos
gallery/album.php?album_id=18

Lee. Apart from those two links, the other galleries are showing I cannot post to them. Are they just for your own use then? The nightlife one is just a rerun of all your sponsors bars, surely they aren't typical of night life in Udon.I also tried uploading to a new personal album and found it just didn't move for over 15minutes. gave up eventually.

Yes

The nightlife one is just a rerun of all your sponsors bars, surely they aren't typical of night life in Udon.

There are more photos to follow and not only sponsors venues.

I also tried uploading to a new personal album and found it just didn't move for over 15minutes. gave up eventually.

I see you've got the hang of it now. If you're uploading several at one time it may take a few minutes to upload depending on your connection.

Yes

Well I thought they must be but couldn't understand why they had appointed moderators.

Well if they are all going to be your own work guess we'll se you out and about some evenings.

The connection speed was okay but it eventually rejected them as too big.So reduced size and all okay.Thanks.

Just noticed on enlarging my pics that a large UDON MAP watermark has been placed on them. Iwasn't aware that I had given permission for this or my consent for their use in any way. I maintain albums on some of the big boy sites like Picasa , Web Shots etc and they certainly do not deface them in this manner. I have deleted all, but the one of the Kings image. This could be construed as advertising using his image, which is of course illegal.I suggest you might like to.

It's automatically placed on all images by default.

Which naturally leads to the questions. Why? By whom?

To copyright udonmap images. The program default is set up to place on all images. I've not had time to disable it from users albums yet.

i think the watermark thing is a good thing, unless you put your own on. this a public forum, anyone could use any image of yours for anything, as we have seen in the past.

i certainly wouldn't follow thru with a lawsuit if my pic appeared on one of the dating sites, trying to entice the ladies to join, i mean, really, who could resist.............and i said ladies, save it, don't be posting my pic on a gay site.
