I went along to the grand opening of the newly acquired, Funky Monkey bar on Rim Khong Road (Map ref: Q1) on Thursday night.

It was also Simon's (the owner) birthday so there was a definite feel good factor knowing that it was a double celebration.

Simon and his wife, Jig, have recently moved to Nong Khai to take advantage of some of the stunning views of the Mekong River (especially the sunsets), they used to run a bar by the same name in Koh Tao, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish them every success in their news venture here in Nong Khai.









Later in the evening, we even received a visit from a slightly more unwelcome guest:

Simon and Jig have now introduced a range of Breton Crepes and Jacket potatoes to their menu at the Jungle Bar. Crepes eh? Another 1st for Nong Khai I do believe

Yes Sean that's right. Only we are 60 meters down the the road from Greg's Jungle Bar at The Funky Monkey. We are also doing a range of Thai dishes too.

We now also have wireless internet for our customers, so pop in for a drink or something to eat and get the password.

Simon & Jig have now relocated from Rimkhong Road,to the same soi as The Love Shack ( the old Outback Bar )

We have now taken the Funky Monkey bar off the market and have relocated to Soi Nitapat and are in the unit formerly occupied by the J'Lo Bar.
We have stopped doing food and now are a bar only, with free wifi and wide screen TV showing all majore sporting events.

We still have a bar for sale on the island of Koh Tao if anyone is interested

I were there this February and enjoyed the nice people in there.



One girl was not only very cute but she also was capable to cook marvellously.
She often cooked for me pad si iuw.



so it is always a good idea to go to the Funky Monkey Bar, as wel as to their neighbours.
