Thanks Richard,

I'm currently in AEK receiving some excellent care and treatment. Broken collarbone, 3 broken ribs and a few scuffs and bruises.

People please be aware that it seems like there is a gang of bagsnatchers operating in the Soi NongBua area of the city who obviously will stop at nothing to get their intended booty. I will certainly be revising my method of night time travel!

My phone is and will remain on for anyone who requires any Real Estate assistance... The show must go on!

Get well soon UPAL/Gareth (?).

The answer may be obvious, but where on Soi Nong Bua did this occur? Market end, or Ring Road end, where it's definitely dark at night? Did you get a look at these thugs? Perhaps one or two of us members can do a little detective work for you.

All the best.

It happened on the section between the 7/11 and the ring road. The only memory I have is somehow managing to pick myself up off the road and calling a friend for assistance, attacked Thai style from behind. The cause of the accident was only explained the next day so unfortunately no IDs on the perpetrators. I'm not particularly optimistic that they'll be caught I just hope my experience makes others a little more vigilant.

It was an isolated incident or at least i hope it was! It was a bag snatching whilst riding my motorbike causing me to lose control a crash. By the time i managed to come round the assailants were long gone... however there was an impressive crowd of locals gawping at the blood covered mangled farang. Thank goodness I was able to contact some friends who came quickly to my assistance, otherwise i'd probably still be laid there.

Not completely accurate, but sadly close to the truth. There are Thais who will come to anybody's aid, but you have to be lucky enough to have one of those few around when you need him.

I travel that part of Soi Nong Bua nearly every day, at all hours. Maybe its a good thing I don't carry a bag. From now on, I will keep a better watch in the rear view mirror, though.

Get well soon.
