Well of course, Gigs are for fun, pure and simple, no involvement, no complications and most of all , no ties. There is no anticipation of long term relationships on either party, in fact most are already married., lady or guy.On the other hand a mia noi is different, her expectations from the relationship are different. She is looking for a much more committed relationship , for a longer period, virtually a wife in waiting. Many men actually marry their mia noi, no one would even think of marrying their gig.
So don't expect your gig to stay faithful, being unfaithful is part of the fun for her.

In the west, the terminology for the word Gigs amongst the younger generations is 'friends with benefits'.

Is there a difference between ''Gigs'' and Giks''?

No, they are just spelled differently.

No not at all Ray, many gik relationships have nothing to do with sex and remain purely platonic especially amongst the middle class , slightly older generation.I understand from many university students that I know the same applies to them. Thats not to say a sexual liason doesn't ever come into play, it obviously does but that isn't the driving force. The main interest is a fun filled relationship that can be whatever you want it to be, flirtatious, sexy, or platonic, that is real fun without the pressure from peer groups, parents etc, to make a commitment to the future. In teen talk."Its fun man, its today, never mind tomorrow, just get out and live it"
My personal interpretation is that its a rebellion against the pressures society(Us old folk)Puts on the modern generation to conform.I am with them all the way, have your fun now, while you can, before the babies and mortgages come along.Wish I could be someones gik
