:) Is this the lady dentist in the lavender/white building on the corner?

My family uses the little old guy about a block or two from her shop on Prajak.Cleanings 300 baht.I had him pull a tooth,350 baht!Good propieter attitude, everything has been satisfactory.
The other shop stands out and looks more modern with a couple of young girls in reception and you must leave your shoes outside!

I didn't use her because a local falang, that I respect, had a personal issue with her and I just decided to try the other guy because of it.Don't know anything about her work, but I am satisfied with the other no frills shop!

Personally - when it comes to a Dentist - I want every bloody frill that they have available.

I wasn't all that pleased with an extraction at AEK Udon - Not quite enough novacaine and couldn't get her to give me any extra. Perhaps she thought that I was a novacaine junkie...

Two happy farangs. :) I was so impressed i came straight on here to sing his praises.I have found most Chinese doctors and dentists to be cold and formal but this guy is great and my wife thinks he's great. She has as bad a phobia as me,but now goes with no problems. Before she would leave a bad tooth for weeks and refuse to get treatment.

Yeah I've been to Maw Mem (lavender) too - just the once. Pretty rough & tough, despite the lavender. She misdiagnosed a friend of mine who fortunately went somewhere else for a second opinion and got treated quickly and efficiently.

She also told me, "Best go to Bangkok for good dental care." Not the best reference for her good self. And she seemed to take that perverse pleasure some dentists do in making herself at home in my mouth, stopping just short of resting her elbow on my gums. But that's just me...

The cool dentist - Dr. Supachai - has moved. He is in a beautiful building on the left just before the fountain/monument/FGCC - sign so far only in Thai. Last building on the left before the light - parking available in the rear.

4 dentists work there, but he's the owner/head honcho, and very good - something I thought I'd never say about a dentist!

I walked in, was led straight to "the chair", had my tooth repaired in 15 minutes, paid THB 600, and off I went. Next time I won't wait until I cut up my tongue on a broken tooth for a week - and just go! Wonderful experience, as far as these things go, and staff lovely, fun, and pretty darn professional even!

Not sure if the number above is still good or not. Wait one, I got a card!

Yep, same number. Hours Mon-Sat, 8:30am - 8:00pm, Sun 8:30am - 12 noon. 042-420951

Specialties Orthodontics, Endodontics, and more fun stuff (no pun intended) I'm sure!

Unfortunately, not quite. Supachai cool, but Thai-style ad hoc, probably OK for cleaning and minor work. But it didn't last.

So went down the road towards the RR Station, on the right, in a beautiful office (with the usual big tooth sign).

VERY professional, soft-spoken, gentle, and did a great job. Won't go anywhere else while I live round here. Can look for more details if anyone needs them, but about 600 meters or so before the tracks...roughly. On the left heading INTO NK.

I too would endorse the recommendation of the large new shop towards the railway crossing on the right. :D

Similarly I would strongly NOT recommend the lavender & white place on Prajak Road in town. I went to this one for just a clean & polish and she was insistent that I should have 4 or 5 small fillings along the (receding) gum line, of which I allowed her to do two there and then (the others would be done at a later date). She did those two quickly (leaving me with uneven patches) followed by a very rushed & scrappy job of the clean & polish that I had actually asked for, before IMO over-charging me on each item. My teeth didn't feel clean. :(

The next day I went to the large new shop on the way to the railway line, where she did a (another) clean and polish, for only 300bt, and said no fillings were required. After she had cleaned my teeth they felt clean. I have recently been again, a year later, and nothing was required. :D

I Went to the NEW shop just before the RR the other day,to make an appointment,as I was still suffering from Jetlag, No Problem said the Male Dentist,He took a look at what needed doing & told me to come back in my own good time,Which I will next week,I Believe his name is Dr.Preecha, seems very professional,& The place is SPOTLESS.......Prices quoted were Extraction 250 baht,Clean & Polish 500 baht, and to have a tooth replaced onto current denture 1,000 Baht......Seems a good deal to me about 32 gbp.....I Priced the treatment privately in the UK,And the dentist there wanted 100 gbp ( For the extraction,ALONE !! ) :yikes: :yikes: Never asked how much for the rest of it BUT Anyone care to make a guess ????

This certainly sounds like a great place to visit when in need, I'll keep his details to hand should I ever need them, hopefully not though.

I would triple the price of the extraction at 100GBP, and I don't think you would get much change from it either.
