Good Hotels near British Embassey

As I will be in Bangkok for a few days and dealing with the British Embassy it would be a good idea to stay at a hotel near there. I believe the embassy is on Wireless Road.

Can anyone recommend any reasonably priced hotels near the British Embassy?

Thanks for your help. :D

ive stayed in the bangkok palace, which was about 1800 baht a night for a decent room including a buffet breakfast, you can walk to the embassy from there in about 10 minutes, its got all the toys, pool, gym, cocktail lounge with live music, nice coffee shop and a reasonable restaurant.

I can recommend the Swissotel Nailert Park Hotel. Great hotel, good service, good food and a nice swimming pool

Its the old "Hilton hotel" not to confuse with present hilton bkk

its right on wireless and walking distance from the B. Embassy

We are off to Bangkok tonight to start the visa applications tomorrow. We always stay at the Golden Palace Hotel on Soi 1 Sukhumvit. This year only 1100 baht.

Rob,
You can stop at a hotel on Sukhumvit and get the skytrain to Ploenchit....from there its about a 5 minute walk to the Embassy.
Skytrain is dead easy to use. From Nana station to Ploenchit its about 20 baht and only takes a few minutes.
For example, you could stay on Sukhumvit Soi 11 which has a few reasonably priced hotels (Grand President,Swiss Park,Ambassador,Federal) and the Nana station is at the end of the soi.
Sukhumvit Soi 11 also has some decent restaurants and good nightlife.

I did not recommend the Bangkok Palace, I just posted the web addy.
The Majestic Suites have a good reputation on the Thai forums.
I like the Royal Benja on Sukhumvit Soi 5, great breakfast.
Close to Nana Skytrain station, NEP and Soi Cowboy.
A great night out here if your with wife.

Trip advisor feed back on Bangkok palace...some say ok some say p!ss poor, the last 10 reviews are not good, me i would go elsewhere.
But in fairness to this hotel, it says it is Newly Refurbished, and the photos of the rooms look good, as long as they are very recent pics.
i know the part of town its in and if you like being near to the 'expressway'(you couldn't miss it when arriving from Don muang heading to Sukhumvit, sitting in gridlock watching people having their breakfast in the glass front elevated restuarant..lol) and you don't mind taking a chance... it could be for you, there are better area's.

Bangkok Palace Reviews HERE..!!

Would stay on Sukhumvit early numbered soi's, and just jump on skytrain, nice and easy with plenty of Hotels 1200baht up, bars(no not just girlie ones) restaurants, nightlife, shopping......
Agree prenders majestic suites always gets good reports.
