Sure you would find a brand name in Bangkok but could you be certain its not a fake one............, if in doubt bring one that fits from your own country, bulky yes but you could carry on the plane and you could call it sports gear.

Just a mute point seat belts are mandatory everywhere, same as helmets, not in the back seat though, they have not got that far yet.

Al;so heard that is stopped for no seatbelt at night they also ask for breath test.
maybe they should do that to motorcylists as well, that would be interesting .

Can't see the seatbelts on motorcycles thing working out , driving(which i thoroughly enjoy) is a constant hazard using common sense would save many a life.

Excellent point Frankie, I sent couple of top model Index helmets to OZ for standards testing with a view to exporting them, the first drop test they failed miserably.
The Koreans can produce a quality unit at a decent price mark, why can't the local manufacturers.
The plastic ice cream containers they sell here just would fall of before your head hit the ground.
Shark produce superb helmets in Thailand, for export only, scandalous that they aren't allowed to sell them on the market here. I manged to eke a few out of the Shark factory ( paid for, not fell of a lorry stuff), if anyone is interested in a decent international helmet send me a note.

has anyone actually been stopped for no seat belt? i know nong khai enforces it.
