Help with Visa please

Hi , I am coming to Udon Thani in March . I am married to a Thai lady and I also have a yellow book, if it makes any difference .I would like to know the best way to get extensions to a 12 months marriage visa , it has been sugested I go for a multiple-entry non-O visa for 90days .

How do I extend and where and can I keep doing this indefinately . I have no deposit but I have intentions of building a business with my Thai wife and If possible I will teach english .

Do I have to come back to the uk each year , Also it was mentioned that I can extend to a maximum of 15 months . Does this mean I have to leave Thailand after this 15 months .

Thanyou in advance for your help

I would also like to know how you can continually get renewed a non imm O visa especially from the Hull consulate and why even financial means of living abroad for a year or up to 15 months is not asked for.My understanding was this type of visa is given so that you then proceed onto the proper visa afterwards ie work,marriage.retirement.If Hull are easy giving out these visas then why do any farang have to stay here on a marriage/retirement visas with minimal balance requirements.

Roy get your non imm o visiting relatives from Hull but move onto the proper visa when here ie working visa when getting your English teaching job(section 2.6 new regulations) or helping out with your new photography business mentioned in your previous posts.

Otherwise do VOA from Uk 30 days, then two 15 days extensions then LAOS for double entry tourist visa to get you up to half a year then repeat procedure again but do not tell anyone you are working here as teacher or setting up your photography business ;)

Not necessarily, according to Hull's requirements it can be based solely for the purpose of visiting friends and other reasons listed here:

Category “O” (other) – this entitles a person to:
a) to visit Thai spouse/family
b) to visit non Thai family/friends living in Thailand
c) to participate in voluntary work in Thailand
d) to seek employment
e) to visit as a UK pensioner

OK Roy bottom line is you're going to have to show proof of income, whether it's a one time deposit of 400,000 or 40,000bt a month for the 90 day Non "O". If the answer is no, than you get a Multi-Non "O" (from Hull) which is good for one year (12 months). However, if you time it right you can squeeze another 3 months out of it before it becomes invalid. This will give you time to get sorted. In order to obtain a another Multi "O" it must be done from your home country, at least that is what is written.

Additionally, without proof of income there's no point of seeking a 1 year extension based on marriage. You can revisit that when you come here and get yourself sorted.

Having read the new police order regarding visa's i suggest it is a must for all farangs to read.
So many seem unable to grasp the problems of continually renewing with border runs, while i am aware of income problems some may face i am sure that with prudence and money management most if not all can meet the criteria.
A year visa is by far the best option for those who wish to stay for any period of time, the only bud bear is the constant 90 day reporting, maybe on the next revamp those who hold marriage or retiremnet visas won't ned to do that either, ( some hope)
Roy the best option is the marriage visa, look carefully and just see if you can fulfill the criteria, if so problem solved.
it seems that the police ( Immigration) asre seeking ways of cutting down on border jumpers, in order to curtail undesirables who use it as a means to circumnavigate the reasonable ( I think) visa requirements for a variety of reasons, some may be illegal.

Good hunting.
