Home page - Live Currency Rates

PostAuthor: JimboPSM » January 6, 2008, 9:11 pm

The Udonmap.com front page carries "Live Currency Rates" - they may have been there for some time but I've only just noticed them.

The rates appear to be Offshore rates (not the Onshore rates obtainable at Thai banks).

Could some kind of appropriate note be put with this to point out which rates they are (such as Onshore/Offshore, Buy/Sell/Mid-market, Notes/TC/TT etc) and what the feed for the rates is.

The rates as they appear now (GBP/THB 58.852 and USD/THB 29.797) are IMHO rather misleading and rather depressing :(

Agreed.
Check out UOB, the Singapore bank's foreign exchange rates. They represent the standard in Udon. Western currencies are vulnerable, means better now than later.
Unless you know different.

Yes, but you can't exchange money except in a bank. Their rates are sacrosanct.
(Now there's a word I had to check the spelling and meaning of)

The Thailand-UK website shows the buy & sell rates for bank notes from Bangkok Bank (USD, GBP, EUR, JPY & HKD) which is a bit more useful, they are on the bottom right hand side of their homepage - if you click on them it takes you straight to the Bangkok Bank Forex page (which is useful). Link for Thailand-UK:

I think you'll find the rates more pleasing too the eye now, with thanks to Bangkok Bank for their live currency widget. :D

Thanks, great stuff Lee, the best keeps getting better - now, while you are on a roll, can you fix it to get GBP/THB back over 70 again? :guiness:
