Home Security Systems

PostAuthor: leehut » April 20, 2009, 10:17 am

Hi All.....I've just bought a house near the airport. Is there a shop or business in Udon that you know of that can supply and fit a home security system / burglar alarm. I'm currently back in the UK so will not be able to fit one myself.....Thanks in advance.....Lee

HI leehut, no response to your request for info, I enquired about the same thing in Udon 3 years ago & none of the businesses i tried could help. They all said plenty in BKK or Pattaya but dont know about this area,so i drew a blank on that one. I do know of one English bloke who brought a system over from the UK & fitted it up himself. Sorry could not be of more help to you, good luck.

This was something I found reviewing old threads.
security-systems-t7244.html

As mentioned there isn't much out there for security systems. After reading this thread
do-you-feel-secure-in-udon-t12528.html

I think you can see,for someone wanting to make money and has any connections in the area, this is completely undeveloped and a money maker in my opinion.Of course opinions are like a**holes and everyone has one.But I do think security and security companies are the next big thing in Thailand as far as falang communities go.Do other members think different?

the parts can be bought from Maplins back in the UK with instructions to install ,its not difficult to do.
and you need the LOUDEST SOUNDERS you can find ,lots of them.strobe lights on the roof as well . Buy a safe from BKK and dig a hole thru the floor slab and cement it in yourself . dont use any local installers as they will know too much about your system .You have a control panel behind the front door and you turn off and on when you go and come. This should have a car battery backup in case of power failure.and get some of those fake baked bean cans with a screw off bottom to keep your valuables in .They sell them in gas stations in UK ..
security systems are the go for sure ....
maplins have a online site where you can buy parts ... \:D/

I bought our wierless system from eBay about 4 years ago and fitted it myself, came with a control box, window and door breakers (I bought extra ones of both), infra red motion sensors, an external siren with strobe light (which is wired in, very easy, 2 wires), gas sensor and remote control units (think thats all). The control box has an auto dialler built in which I have programmed to my and the wifes mobiles.
Does it work well? so far lucky enough not to have had it tested for real but all the tests we've done have worked.

Similar to this kit in the eBay link
