Dear Golden Gate:

Foreigners are prohibited from owning land in Thailand.

There are some alternatives including obtaining a long-term lease agreement, a life estate (called a usufruct here), investing 40 million Baht, or owning it under a Thai limited company. Which alternative is best for you depends upon how you intend to use the land and what your objectives are. For most people, a lease agreement or life estate is a good option.

Hope this helps.

FBI real estate company (link on this website) will probrably be able to sort you out. Tell the owner (in English) what you want and he will know a 'man who can' !
