To be fair, I don't consider that the advice that has been given has been cynical, but on the whole, sincere, in that the posters have tried to give HDMark, the potential pitfalls that COULD occur, based on their own or others experiences.

This to a newcomer to Thailand, could be off-putting, but he should be aware of these pitfalls, and my advice to him, for what its worth, is yes, take note of the potential scams ect, but also be aware, that there is also many many sincere and genuine Thai people, so don't let the negative points that some people have experienced spoil what could be the start of fulfilling and harmonious family future. The best of luck to you both :D :D :D

I totally agree with ralph, from what I have read, he seems sincere enough, but a word of caution, just take care of Gf and baby, leave the family out of it for the mo, see how that develops.
As for getting the right paperwork all you need is a Thai birth certificate and then deal with either the british embassy or even back in england to register the birth there.( you do not have to be married as I understand it ).
When the excitement and all that has died down over the birth etc: then you can look at the future and hopefull by then your G/f will be thinking along similar lines to you.
Do NOT and I repeat that DO NOT be pressurised to commit to anything else as yet, take it slowly and carefully, the advice given is sound and based on some members hard learnt lessons. You are young ( I can say that ) and you need to let life take its course, whatever happens all the best for your lady and the baby.
Please feel free to ask advice you will get it sometimes with some cynical remarks as well.

You have been busy and will continue to be busy Hd....>..Work-UK/Thailand/GirlFriend/New Baby/Possible marriage/Moving To Thailand/Working To Support Everyone/and maybe a move even further from your Home Land to Oz....man you must be having some thoughts right now....
Register the birth at UK embassy also.(translation of birth cert needed with your name on as father)...can you register a non-uk birth at a UK reg office..??, and no you don't have to be married to do it in UK.

My spider sense's are tingling why has the young chap never answered the last 2 page's, and yes we do not know any background. Im sure we have all been there before, where you get pulled in by the sultry brown eye's and you melt into the bar where she worked and her friends all remarked on what a hansum man you are. It happened to me in Patong did the who Uni course. Visits to the village, meet the family Etc, send the cash from falangland so she not work in Bar again. Stopped short at the sick Bufaloe scam but none the less seen only as a walking AtM. When the cash stopped from western union so did the txt from my Tilac. Think this lad needs a fast track into the Wb university. Or an intoduction to Izzix he will put him on the Straight and Narrow.

Please can we not always assume that a persons G/F started life in a bar, many many farangs meet their girls at other places ( massage parlours.....lol), but seriously folks whereever one meets a girl let us not prejudge her work ethics until we know a tad more, I do agree we may be right, but for a newcomer joining, someone castigating is beloved would make one even less likely to continue using the site, So can we just give god advice without charactorising the g/f as a bar girl or whatever. Then when we know more we can let rip........... :-k

The best advice that i can give is to show her family that you deserve each other. Respect her whole family and tradition. One more thing, always work hard so that you can survive your own family. :D
