A notorized signed document or sworn statement is simply a legally authorized person or agency verifying that the actual party involved appeared with required document, then swore, and signed it personally. The U.S. embassy does exactly that for it's citizens yearly Thai visa requirement- for around $30. They don't have the time or inclination to investigate the guy's finances. The U.S. has another agency for that- the I.R.S. By the way, the embassy outreach will be in Khon Kaen on May 1st., God bless 'em.

Anyone try using their income certification letter (original) from previous year(s) to get visa extension lately?

Next month I shall be renewing my retirement visa. I am using an income verification issued by the embassy three years ago. My telephone enquiry was answered with.Providing the sum at the current rate of exchange is still at least 800k, no problem. My wife however is more doubtful and has transferred her money into my account ,in case. Will let you know.

When I renewed my extension in March this year the officer at Nong Khai made a point of telling me they were keeping the original income statement from the Australian embassy.

I think I will give them a call. Someday i need to spend sometime in Bangkok and see what is there. Reminds me to much of Los Angeles to big to many people.
